Unpacking and checking
Remove all packaging and check the appliance for damage.•
Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way. Bring it back to the dealer immediately.•
Open the CD compartment and remove the transport protection.•
Battery operation
Open the battery compartment and insert six C-Cell (UM-2/LR14 type) batteries. Please observe •
correct polarities. The batteries are not included.
• Note: When the set is only used with “AC“ or is not used for 4 weeks or more, please remove the
batteries, to avoid damage to the set from leakage of batteries.
Also observe the safety instructions for handling batteries (“Important safety instructions”).•

Headphone jack
This unit is equipped with a stereo headphone jack (3.5mm diameter) which accepts most standard •
earphones & headphones (not included).
When the plug of a standard headphone or earphone is inserted into this jack, the built-in speakers •
will automatically be disabled.
When the headphone or earphone is disconnected, the speakers will be activated.•
Radio operation
Set the function switch to the desired band (• AM, FM or FM ST.).
Rotate the tuning control knob to tune in to the desired station.•
Adjust the telescopic antenna (for FM/FM ST) or position of the set (for AM) to obtain the best •
reception.
Adjust the volume control knob to the desired level.•
To turn off the radio, slide the function switch to • TAPE (OFF).
