2. CHARACTERISTICS AND TECHNICAL DATA

The MAVERICK PLUS espresso coee machine has the following features:

• built-in coee grinder with instant grinding

• fully stainless steel construction

• stainless steel cup rack warmer

• drip tray and cup rack in stainless steel

• coee distributor with chrome-plated cup ring

• internal water/steam tap in brass with safety by-pass

• chrome-plated copper water/steam nozzle

• brass boiler

3. SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS AND RULES

Follow these rules carefully:

! the MAVERICK PLUS espresso machine should only be used for the purpose for which it was made

! improper use of the machine can cause damage to persons and property for which the manufacturer

cannot be held responsible

! always contact a qualied service center or the manufacturer for operations other than those

described in the instruction book and for all types of repairs

! make sure the mains voltage is the same as the data on the rating plate

! make sure the electric power system is compatible with the data on the rating plate

! the coee maker should be well and safety grounded. Have the system checked if you have any

doubts

! make sure the power system is equipped with a safety cuto that works properly and that the cross

section of the cables is sucient for the power absorbed

! for any type of malfunction or problems not specied here, unplug the machine and do not

attempt to check and/or repair it yourself. Contact a qualied service center or the manufacturer

! do not ll the tank with water when the machine is plugged in

! make sure there is water in the tank when the machine is operating

! do not change the grinding parameters when the coee grinder is running

! do not forget to turn the steam switch o after using the steam function

! never place your hands or other parts of the body in the path of the water/steam nozzle. Hot water

and steam can cause serious burns

! never place your hands or other parts of the body or any other object inside the machine when it

is plugged in

! never touch the machine with wet hands or feet

! never touch the hot parts of the machine (bottom of coee distributor and water/steam nozzles)

! before performing any routine maintenance make sure the machine is unplugged, without pulling

the power cable, or that the main circuit breaker is o

! if the power cable should be damaged and have to be replaced, order a new cable from the

manufacturer and/or its service center

! never immerse the coee machine in any type of liquid

! do not use detergents or abrasive substances to clean the machine

! do not leave the machine exposed to atmospheric agents

! do not leave the machine within reach of children or people who are not capable of using it

! keep the coee maker away from any heat sources

4. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER

4.1 Starting the machine

To start the MAVERICK PLUS espresso machine follow the instructions below:

• open the external packing and take the machine out. Inspect the machine to ascertain that it

is intact and in good condition. Check for the presence of all the accessories supplied with the

machine (see paragraph 1.1)

• position the machine on a at surface

• remove the cover and take out the water tank (located inside the machine) and rinse it

• ll the container with clean water, return it to its housing and insert the silicon tubes. Close the

cover on the machine

• plug in the machine

• press the main circuit breaker (1). The main power on light (2) and the coee light (4) will go on

Perform the following operations every time you switch the machine on and every time

you draw steam:

• place a container under the water/steam nozzle (11)

• turn the knob on the water/steam tap (10) counter-clockwise 

• press the coee switch (3). Water will come out of the water/steam nozzle (11)

• press the coee switch again (3)

• turn the water/steam knob (10) clockwise  to close the tap

• wait about 3-4 minutes until the machine is pressurized and the coee light (4) goes o

Now the MAVERICK PLUS coee machine is ready to use

4.2 Use of the coee grinder

With the machine on:

• pour coee beans into the coee grinder container (14)

•

The numbered label on the coee container (14) refers to the dierent degrees of grinding. 0 is the

nest, 10 is the coarsest

The coee grinder is set for optimum grinding which is level 3 on the label. For various reasons, the

type of coee, moisture… it may be necessary to change the setting

! do not change the setting on the coee grinder while it is in use

• if you want to change the grinding setting, hold the ratchet down (17) and turn the coee

container (14) until you have the desired grinding. For coarser coee turn the coee container

(14) counter-clockwise , and for ner grinding turn it clockwise 

• release the ratchet (17) to lock the setting
