! COOL-ER and CoolerBOOKS User Manual from Interead.com V1.1 34 of 45
Tell me about formats…
What types of documents can I read on my
COOL-ER?
We're keen to make COOL-ER as user friendly as
possible, which is why users can load their own
documents, as well as any purchased files that
they have the right to view. COOL-ER is suitable
for use with many file formats and with ebooks
purchased from most ebookstores as well as
Project Gutenburg files saved in a compatible
format.
Which files formats can I use with my
COOL-ER?
You can read formatted documents in PDF and
EPUB as well as FB2, RTF, TXT, PRC and HTML.
Additionally, you can listen to your favourite MP3
audio files and view JPG and GIF images. With
such a wide choice of formats, you'll find you can
use your COOL-ER for almost all documents!
Can I organize documents on my COOL-ER?
COOL-ER has a very straightforward folder
system: save your files into your individually
named folders on your computer and the folder
system is transferred to you COOL-ER. You
choose how to sort your library; for example by
genre, date or favourite author. With COOL-ER
you have full control of your filing.
Can I read my own documents on my
COOL-ER?
Yes, you can upload files from any source to your
COOL-ER provided they are in the correct format
and you have the right to view them.
Will my COOL-ER re-flow formatted text?
COOL-ER is able to automatically re-flow most
documents to improve page layout and
readability but remember, your ebook is an
electronic representation of a normal book and
sometimes the format of the original book
precludes re-flow.
I need to view complicated documents; can
my COOL-ER handle it?
COOL-ER is suitable for viewing complex texts;
the integral zoom feature and automatic reflow
make it ideal for text and images.
Can I use my COOL-ER to view academic
texts?
Yes, COOL-ER has 8 text sizes which allow easy
zoom. Perfect for viewing complicated
diagrams, your COOL-ER will be a real asset
when you’re studying on the move.
How well will my COOL-ER display
images?
Images viewed on your COOL-ER match the
resolution of the original image. COOL-ER only
supports greyscale text and imagery, and this
has traditionally been sufficient. If your original
book contains colour pictures these will be
displayed in monochrome on your COOL-ER.
Designed to fully support text and image
documents, COOL-ER boasts 8 greyscales levels
with a dpi of 170 to ensure clarity and detail
while minimising risk of eyestrain.
