Do not use iAUDIO for
purposes other than specied
here in the User’s Guide.
Be careful not to cut your hands
when unpacking the box, User’s
Guide, or accessories.
This product uses 1.2 ~ 1.5V
batteries. Always use AAA
batteries, and pay attention to
the polarity when replacing
batteries. Never reuse batteries
that have been found leaking.
There are no user service
-
able parts in the unit, and any
attempt to open, disassemble or
reconstruct the product will void
any warranty, disqualify it for
free service, and the unit may be
permanently disqualified from
any after service.
Pay attention to the directions when
connecting the USB cable to your
iAUDIO or a PC.
Connecting the unit or PC incorrectly
with the USB cable may damage
them.
Do not bend the USB cable exces

sively or leave it pressed by heavy
objects.
If you smell iAUDIO burning or it
becomes overheated, remove the
battery and contact our Customer

Touching iAUDIO with wet

What is iAUDIO?
What is iAUDIO?
iAUDIO is an original MP3 Player brand from Cowon Systems. It is a super-compact portable digital audio
device that allows you to play MP3les and other various multimedia audio les, listen to and record FM
radio stations, record voice and encode directly.
Deluxe, portable, and stylish design
iAUDIO with its deluxe, ultra-compact design is convenient to carry as durable as its high-quality appear-
ance is stylish.
Continuous play of up to 20 hours with one AAA battery
Thanks to its super power-saving circuit, iAUDIO boasts a long playback time of up to 20 hours with just
one AAA battery. (Based on Cowon standardized testing.)
High-Quality Voice Recording
With the built-in high-delity microphone, iAUDIO can record voice to the level of dedicated voice record-
ers. You can record important meetings or lectures, and save them in your PC to listen to later.
Direct Encoding (Line-in)
iAUDIO provides direct encoding by which you can record the output from an external audio device.
This means that you can connect the 3.5 mm Line-in jack of iAUDIO and the output jack of an external au
-
dio device with a bi-directional stereo cable for recording. Using this feature, you can receive direct inputs
from a walkman, MD (mini disk), old LP phonograph, or TV, and convert and save them as les in different
digital audio formats in iAUDIO for your personal enjoyment.
Listen to and Record FM Radio
You can not only listen to FM radio, but record your favorite programs directly in iAUDIO while listening.
This feature is also very useful for studying language. Once recorded, you can listen to the recorded les
repeatedly. You can save up to 24 radio frequencies in preset stations with channel numbers.
Alarm and Scheduled Recording
You can set the alarm to a desired time to start the day with an FM radio station or your favorite music,
or record educational radio stations early in the morning to listen to later.
Wide Graphic LCD
iAUDIO is equipped with a 128 x 64 graphic LCD and an additional 4-line wide LCD consisting of segment
LCDs that allow you to check overall operations at a glace. iAUDIO comes embedded with common fonts
that can display a total of over 40,000 characters in various languages to support virtually any language in its
elegant display.
1,000 Color LED Backlight and Visualizations
iAUDIO can express 1,000 back light colors. You can personally specify the colors for MP3, FM Radio,
Recording, Menu, Navigating, or Song Change modes. For example, you can set blue for MP3 mode, light
green for FM mode, and other colors for different modes or commands.

Replacing Batteries/Connecting the USB Cable
Connecting the USB Cable
When you open the USB cover on the bottom of iAUDIO,
there is a built-in USB port.
Connect iAUDIO to the PC while paying attention to the
direction of the USB port.
For Windows XP, you may pull out the USB cable after the
transfer window is closed.
For Windows 2000, however,
you should rst runSafely Remove Hardware before
pulling out the cable.
After downloading les, be sure to check that the iAUDIO
LCD display is changed to READY before pulling out
the cable.
LCD Display
The battery level icon indicates the remaining time for use. Fewer bars are displayed as the
battery charge decreases. For some dry or rechargeable batteries, the bars of the battery level
indicator may become unstable while the charge is being measured, but this is normal.
When the battery is exhausted, the battery level indicator starts to blink, and then after about
30 minutes of operation, the power goes off automatically.
Memory usage is displayed when iAUDIO is stopped in MP3 Player mode.
When the built-in memory is 128 MB, one bar indicates about 21 MB (128 MB ÷ 6). When
iAUDIO is playing in MP3 Player mode, the display animates in the shape, and in the
shape when in FM mode.
The disc shape is used when ID3V2 and ID3V1, and Artist + Album information is displayed.
However, when the display setting is Filename, or the ID3 tag does not contain Artist informa
-
tion, the folder shape is used and the folder name is displayed. When the music les are saved
in the root folder, the folder name is displayed as iAUDIO.

Basic Operations for Using Menu
1. Opening the Navigator or Mode Change Window
A. To open the Mode Change window, press the MODE button in Play or Stop status.
B. To open the Navigator, press and hold the MENU button in Play or Stop status.
(You can change the operation mode by selecting the Setup Menu General
MENU button.)
2. Moving and Selecting using Navigator or Mode
C. Moving up and down in Menu: Press VOLto move up, and VOL + to move
down.
D. Left and right movement in Menu or Mode: Press VOLto move left, and VOL
+ to move right.
E. In EQ or Color Setting mode, move between items with the FF button (to enter an
item or move right) or REW (to move left), and adjust values with the + or - but-
tons.
F. Select: Press the MENU button.
3. Returning to the previous menu or the operation window for each mode after setting, and exit-
ing without saving
G. Returning to the previous menu: Press the REW button. The current value is saved
and the previous menu appears.
H. Returning to the operation window for each mode: After adjusting a setting, press
the Play/Pause button to select it. The adjusted value is applied and the operation
window for the appropriate mode appears.
I. Exiting without saving changed settings: Press the REC/A↔B button to exit the
menu without saving the changed settings.
Navigation Mode/Navigator
1. Entering Navigation Mode
While in Play or Stop status, press and hold MENU to run Navigator.
Press the MODE button to enter the Navigation Mode.
Music Files: You can browse MP3 and WMA files according to the folder structure.
Dynamic PlayList: The playlist generated with theAdd to Listfeature is displayed. You can delete
items from the list as well.
Bookmarks: The Bookmark feature is used to save the locations of specific song titles to listen to them
directly from the saved locations. This is very useful when using language study files or audio books
that have a long playing time. You can bookmark up to 20 song titles, and play them from the book
-
marked location. Press and hold the REC button to bookmark music les while they are being played.

2. When you press the MENU button after selecting a le in Navigator:
• Play now: The track is played immediately.
• Add to List: The track is added to the Dynamic Playlist.

When you press the lever when (Add Current) is selected, the
current location of the song title being played is bookmarked. To

3. Adjust Volume
To adjust Volume while playing, press + or .
Press briey to adjust by 1 volume unit, or press and hold to adjust rapidly.
Volume can be adjusted between 00 (mute) and 40.
4. Changing Mode
Press the MODE button. The MODE Change menu appears.
Select a desired MODE by pressing the + and buttons. The modes appear in
the order “MP3 Player FM Radio Voice Recorder Line in Recorder.”
Press the MENU button after selecting a desired mode.
The mode cannot be changed in the Menu window.
5. Setting Loop:

Use the REC (A↔B) button while playing tracks in MP3 Player mode.
Press the button to set the loop start point. The (A) icons appears at the bottom
middle of the LCD. Press the button again to set the loop end point. The icon
changes to (AB). This audio block starts to play repeatedly. When you wish to
release this feature, press the REC button again.
6. HOLD:
When you toggle the HOLD switch ON, iAUDIO does not respond to any
buttons.
MP3 Player Mode
1. Power On and Play
Insert a battery and correctly connect the earphones.
When you press and hold the PLAY button, the iAUDIO logo appears and
iAUDIO powers on.
When iAUDIO powers on, it starts playing automatically.
Because the Resume feature is set, iAUDIO saves the last played track and posi
-
tion, and playback begins from there.
To move from another mode to the MP3 Player mode to listen to music, press the
MODE button after turning on iAUDIO and select MP3 Player from the menu.
Navigate with the + and buttons and press the MENU button to enter MP3
Player mode.
2. Power Off and Stop
Press and hold the PLAY button when iAUDIO is stopped to power off iAUDIO.
When you press and hold the PLAY button briefly in the PC Play status, iAUDIO
stops playing.
You can automatically turn off iAUDIO when you set the Auto Off or Sleep
feature.
iAUDIO does not power off when your PC and iAUDIO are connected by USB
cable.

3. When you briey press the MENU button after selecting a folder in Navigator:
Expand: The selected folder expands.
Play now: The tracks in the selected folder are played.
(The song titles are not displayed since iAUDIO is in Folder mode.
Add to List: All the tracks in the selected folder are added to the Dynamic Playlist.
Press the REW button to move to the parent folder.
When you select a folder and press the FF button, the folder expands.

FM Radio (Listening to FM Radio)
Turn on iAUDIO and press the MODE button, and then select FM Radio from
the menu. Navigate with the + and buttons and press the MENU button to enter
FM Radio mode.
When you briefly press the FF/REW button while listening to FM Radio, the
frequency moves by 0.1 KHz.
When you press and hold the FF/REW button for 1 or 2 seconds, iAUDIO
automatically searches for the nearest station with good reception.
To record FM broadcasts while listening to FM radio stations, press the REC
button. The broadcast is recorded in a pre-dened recording quality, and the file is
saved as F***.MP3 under the FM folder in the Records folder.
(“*** indicates a 3-digit consecutive number.)
To pause recording, briefly press the PLAY button.
For information on setting the recording quality, see page 32 of this manual.
When you press the PLAY button briefly while playing, the mode changes to
Preset mode in which you can select a preset channel. When you press and hold
the MENU button while listening to FM Radio, 24 FM Presets are provided.
You can change the preset channels by pressing the FF/REW button. After select-
ing a channel, you can press the MENU button to display the popup menu for
more convenient features.
Listen Ch: Listen to the current radio station.
Save Current: Add the current radio station to Presets.
Delete Ch: Delete the current radio station.
Voice Recorder (Recording Voice with Built-In Mic)
Turn on iAUDIO and press the MODE button. Then select Voice Recorder from
the menu. Navigate with the + and buttons and press the MENU button to enter
MIC mode.
Press the REC button to start recording.
The sound is recorded in a pre-dened recording quality, and the file is saved as
V***.mp3 in the
VOICE folder under the RECORDS folder.
(“*** represents a 3-digit consecutive number.)
For recording quality setting procedure, see page 32 of this manual.
When the recording is nished, press the Menu button to enter Navigator for more
convenient features.
Play now: Plays the track immediately.
Add to List: Adds the track to the Dynamic Playlist.
Intro: Listen to only the intro part of the track.
Delete: Completely remove the track from Flash memory.
To play recorded files more conveniently using Fast Forward and Fast Rewind
features, change to MP3 Player mode, and select V***.MP3 files to play in the
VOICE folder under the RECORDS folder.

Line-in Recorder (Direct Encoding)
We will describe the example of direct encoding between CDP and iAUDIO5.
Turn on iAUDIO and press the MODE button. Then select Line-in Recorder from
the menu. Navigate with the + and buttons and press the MENU button to enter
the Line-in Recorder mode.
Connect the headphone jack of CDP with the Line-in jack of iAUDIO with a
bi-directional stereo jack cable.
Press the REC button to switch iAUDIO to recording standby status. The memory
usage icon blinks but the timer does not increase, which indicates that iAUDIO is
not recording, but in on recording standby.
When you press the PLAY button of CDP, iAUDIO detects signals coming in
through the Line-in jack and starts recording.
Thele is recorded as L***.MP3 in the
Line-in folder under the
RECORDS. (*** represents a 3-digit consecutive number.)
For information on changing the recording quality, see page 32 of this manual.
After recording, you can press and hold the Menu button to enter Navigator mode
for more convenient features.

JetEffect
1. Equalizer
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and enter JetEffect.
When you select Equalizer and press the MENU button, the 5 band EQ appears.
Use the + and buttons to move to your desired EQ setting from among Normal,
Rock, Jazz, Classic, Pop, Vocal, and User.
You can adjust each EQ band as you like.
To adjust the values, select a desired EQ band, and press the FF button to change to
editing mode. Then use the + and buttons to change values.
2. BBE :
BBE is a sound eld effect that makes music clearer.
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and enter JetEffect.
Select BBE and press the MENU button. A submenu appears for you to select from
0 to 10.
Use the + and buttons to select a value.
3. Mach3Bass :
Mach3Bass is a base boosting effect that reinforces super-base frequencies.
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and select JetEffect.
Select Mach3Bass and press the MENU button. A submenu appears for you to select
from 0 to 10. Use the + and buttons to select a value.
4. MP Enhance :
MP Enhance is a soundeld effect that compensates for the lost parts of sound.
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and select JetEffect.
Select MP Enhance and press the MENU button. A submenu appears for you to turn
this function On/Off.
Use the + and buttons to select a value.
5. 3D Surround :
3D Surround provides a 3D sound effect.
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and select JetEffect.
Select 3D Surround and press the MENU button. A submenu appears for you to
select from 0 to 10.
Use the + and buttons to select a value.
6. Pan (Left and Right Balance)
Pan is a feature to adjust the balance of left and right volumes.
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and enter JetEffect.
Select Pan and press the MENU button. A submenu appears for you to select from
–20 to +20.

Backlight
You can change the backlight color. Press the MENU button, select Backlight, and press the MENU button
again. When the following menu appears, select a color and press the MENU.
When the battery level is low, the backlight color changes to a color that consumes less battery than the
specied color, and the Theme feature does not work.
1. Color
Playing, FM Radio, Recording, Menu, Navigating, Song Change
(Example) Select Playing. Three colors, Red, Green, and Blue appear.
Select Red and press the FF/REW button. The backlight color changes to red.
Select a value among 0 to 9 and press the MENU button. The parent menu appears.
2. White Balance
• You can adjust the white balance of the backlight.
Adjust the value until the backlight becomes white.
Use the FF/REW button to change the color.
Use the/+ buttons to adjust the value.
3. Theme
• These are the predefined visualization effects provided by iAUDIO.
Select Theme and press the MENU button. You can select a desired theme with the
+ and
buttons.
Select Rainbow Runner or Shooting Star. When None is selected, the Theme feature
is turned off.
4. Time
You can set the time during which the backlight is turned on.
Select Time and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to select from

Play Mode
1. Boundary (Play Range Setting):
In this menu, you can select various play ranges.
MP3les recorded by Mic and Line-in are excluded.
Press the MENU button in MP3 Player mode, and enter the PLAY mode.
While Boundary is selected, press the MENU button to show the following
options one by one.
1 (One): plays only one track.
F (Folder): plays only the current selected folder.
A (All): plays all tracks in all folders.
However, the recorded les in the RECORDS folder are excluded.
In the RECORDS folder, only modes F or 1 are allowed.
P (Playlist): plays only the tracks in the Playlist.
2. Repeat (Setting Repeat Play):
You can change the repeat play value to apply to the play track.
In MP3 Player mode, press the MENU button to enter PLAY mode.
Select Repeat and press the MENU button. The square box at the right is checked.
When you press the MENU again, the square box is unchecked and Repeat Play
is not set.
When it is checked, the selected play range is played repeatedly.
3. Shuffle (Setting Random Play):
Select whether to play tracks randomly in the play range specified in PLAY mode.
In MP3 Player mode, press the MENU button to enter PLAY mode.
Select Shufe and press the MENU button. The square box on the right is checked.
When you press the MENU again, the square box is unchecked and Shufe is
not set.
When it is checked, Shuffle is applied.

Display
1. View Watch
The current time is displayed.
When this is set to On, the current time is displayed at the location for the Folder/
Album Name in the MP3 Player.
To set the current time, select Setup Menu Timer Set Time.
2. Lyrics
The lyrics for the track being played are displayed.
Select Lyrics and move the jog lever up and down to set On/Off.
On: The lyrics are automatically displayed when they exist. / Off: The lyrics are not
displayed, even when they exist.
To switch between the general play screen and the lyrics display screen in MP3 Player
mode, press and hold the REC/AB button. (This operation works only for tracks
with lyrics.)
3. Play Time
The time info of the played track is displayed and you can select which time info to
display.
Remain: The time remaining is displayed. (Example: 3:32)
Elapse: The time since the beginning of the track is displayed. (Example: 0:01)
Select an option and press the MENU button to apply it.
4. Song Title
Select how to display le names.
ID3V2: ID3Tag Version 2 is given priority.
ID3V1: ID3Tag Version 1 is given priority.
FileName: The saved Windows file name is displayed.
When you select an option and press the MENU button, it is applied beginning with
the next track played.
5. Scroll Speed
Adjust the scroll speed of the text displayed in the LCD.
You can select a value between 0 and 8. (0 means no scroll)
Select Scroll Speed and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to select
a desired value.
6. Page Sliding
Controls animation effects for opening and closing menus.
You can select Fast, Normal, or Smooth.
After selecting an option, press the MENU button to apply it.
7. Language
You can change the language of the menu.

4. Sleep
iAUDIO automatically turns off at preset time when it is turned on.
You can select 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 90, or 120 min.
Select Sleep and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to select a desired
value.
5. Auto Off
When there are no button operations for a preset time while iAUDIO is stopped, it
automatically turns off.
You can select 0, 30 sec, 1, 5, 10, 30, or 60 min.
Select Auto Off and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to select a
desired value.
Timer
1. Set Time
Sets the current time.
To move between items, push the jog to << or >>.
To change the value, push the jog to + or –.
2. WakeUp Mode
Select an alarm operation mode.
Music Alarm: iAUDIO powers on at the preset time, changes to MP3 Player
mode, and plays the last played track. (This does not work when iAUDIO is
already turned on.)
FM Alarm: iAUDIO powers on at the preset time, changes to FM Radio mode,
and plays the last-played or a pre-dened channel.
FM Record: iAUDIO powers on at the preset time, changes to FM Radio mode,
and records the last-played or a pre-defined radio channel.
(This works whether or not iAUDIO is turned on.)
3. WakeUp Time
Set the alarm time and method.
Once is to set off the alarm only once, and Daily is to set off the alarm everyday.
Duration is the time for which the alarm continues. When you set10 min” for
example, the power goes off automatically after 10 minutes.
In FM Alarm and FM Record, you can select any radio station as well as the last
selected station or an FM Preset station.

Lyrics Search Window
This window is used to search lyrics for music source les when you cannot add lyrics automatically.
Enter the keywords in the search window and press theSearch” button. The searched lyrics list is displayed
in the Explorer Window. When you select lyrics from the list, they are displayed in the Lyrics Window.
When you press the Markingbutton, the selected lyrics are added to the music sourcele, and when you

5. Battery Type
Select the battery type to use.
Select this carefully because the battery remainder is measured differently
depending on the battery type.
You can select Alkaline or Rechargeable. iAUDIO ofcially recommends
1.2 ~ 1.5 v Nickel-Hydride fast rechargeable batteries or alkaline batteries.
Select Battery Type and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to
select a desired value.
6. Song Order
Select the method to arrange song titles.
Download Time: Arrange songs by order downloaded in.
File Name: Arrange songs by le name.
File Time: Arrange songs by file creation time.
Song Order is not applied immediately, but from the next booting.
* Since the File Name for Song Order do not use old DOS File name, but use
Long File Names, which are more precisely arranged, the booting time takes
a little longer.

4. Mic Volume
Set the volume level of the built-in mic.
Volumes that are too high may cause amplified noise, electric noise, peaking or
distortion and degrade the recording quality.
You can select a value between 1 and 10. Higher values mean higher amplication.
Select Mic Volume and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to select
a desired value.
5. Voice Active
• Recording pauses when there is no sound input during recording and restarts
when there is sound. This feature saves memory.
You can select a value between 0 and 10. Smaller values mean greater sensitivity.
If you set this value too high relative to the surrounding sounds, recording may
not be activated as intended. Set this value to 0 when making important recording
to guarantee that recording begins.
Select Voice Active and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to
select a desired value.
6. Line Volume
Set the volume level of incoming signals from the Direct Encoding jack.
You can select values between 1 and 10. Higher values mean higher
amplication.
Select Line Volume and press the MENU button. Use the + and buttons to
select a desired value.
7. Auto Sync
Auto Sync senses sound from the Line-in jack and automatically recognize blank
intervals between tracks to create separate les for different tracks.
You can select between 0 and 8. 0 is Off. Higher values means longer interval
between tracks.
The above numbers are not in seconds.

Version
Displays the current version of thermware embedded in iAUDIO.
Memory (Used/Total Memory Capacity)
Displays information on the flash memory in iAUDIO.
You can check the used and remaining memory capacities.
iAUDIO Flash Memory shares some parts with the system memory.
When you exclude the memory taken by the system that is required for normal operation of iAUDIO,
theash memory that is displayed may be less than its total capacity.
For example, about 119MB is the normal capacity from 128MB products.
Battery (Remaining Battery Capacity)
Displays the remaining capacity of the battery in iAUDIO as a V value.
You can check the remaining battery capacity.

1. When you insert iAUDIO installation CD in the CD-ROM drive, the installation program starts
automatically. It may not start automatically depending on the settings of Windows. In this case, run
x:\setup.exe or x:\JetShell\setup.exe. (where x is the letter of your CD-ROM drive)
2. When the installation finishes, Start -> Program -> COWON -> iAUDIO5 program group is cre
-
ated.
3. You are now ready to connect iAUDIO to PC (Don’t run JetShell at this time).
Connect the USB ports of iAUDIO to your PC using the provided USB cable.
(We recommend to connect iAUDIO to the PC directly, not using USB hub)
4. As soon as the cabe is connected, the message “Found New Hardware” appears and the USB
driver for iAUDIO is installed automatically. The driver installation message may not appear on the
screen depending on the status of Windows. To make sure that the installation was completed nor
-
mally, check for the device “iAUDIO” in My Computer as shown below, or “Control Panel -> System
-> Hardware -> Device Manager”.
5. Now you can transfer files by using JetShell or Window Explorer.

The E:\ drive shown in the illustration is an example, and it may be different from the actual drive name
used by your PC. It was given for your reference only.
1. Connect the USB ports of iAUDIO to your PC using
the provided USB cable. As soon as the cable is
connected, "Add New Hardware Wizard" window
is displayed. Click Next.
2. Check "Search for the best driver for your device"
and click Next.

From the "Browse" window, select the [Win98]

Double click an MP3, MP2, WAV, WMA, ASF, Audio CD track, or Playlist (m3u) file in the "File
Management Window", or drag and drop files on the "Player Window" shown above. You can also select
multiple les and then press the Play button. On the black screen in the middle, various information of
currentle is displayed, and two types of spectrum screens appear.
You can start and stop playing the file with the buttons at the right, and adjust the volume with the + and
- buttons. To skip instantly to a specic position of the track being played, click on the position bar.

The File Management Section of JetShell looks just like Windows Explorer. The left window shows folders,
disks, and CD-ROM drives in a tree structure, and the right window shows theles in current folder.

Flash Memory Management Section
The bottom part of JetShell consists of "Flash Memory Management Window" and "Download List
Window". When iAUDIO is working normally, the red lamp is turned on with the message "iAUDIO
is working" as shown in the figure. The files in iAUDIO displayed in the middle window. The "Memory
used" bar shown at the bottom right indicates the used memory size of the total ash memory of iAUDIO.
If this bar is almost full, it means that there is almost no free space available in iAUDIO.

1. Downloading music les to iAUDIO is very simple.
Select les to download from the "File Management
Window" and click down arrow.
2. Or you can also drag and drop the selected files from
the "File Management Window" to the "Flash Memory
Management Window".
3. The following window shows the le downloading
process. Never disconnect the USB cable while
downloading.
Make sure that the LCD status is READY before
disconnecting USB cable.

With JetShell, you can easily convert your Audio CD into MP3 files and download them to iAUDIO.
1. Before getting started, you must choose the quality of the MP3 les to create. Click [Setup] –[MP3
Encoder Option] to set the desired bitrate of the MP3 files. (The files compressed in a high bitrate have
a higher sound quality and a bigger le size.)

2. From the File Management section, select the CD-ROM drive in which the Audio CD is inserted. Select
the audio tracks from the right window and click or [File][Convert CD to MP3] from the
menu.

3. Specify the path to save the MP3 files in. Choose a folder in iAUDIO to directly download MP3 files
onto iAUDIO.

1. Ripping Enhanced CD
For some enhanced CDs, you cannot directly select the tracks on the CD.
In this case, you can right click your mouse on button and select a track to convert to le as
shown in the picture below. However, for some Audio CDs for which copy protection technology is
applied, this ripping method may not work.
What is an enhanced CD?
This is an audio CD that contains video or data for a PC.
2. Accessing Internet CD Database
When you press the button, the information on the CD, such as the singer and song title can be
acquired through the Internet.
To use CD database, the Internet connection must be enabled. You may not be able to use this feature
depending on the status of the network or the proxy server settings.
When incorrect data is stored in the CD database, the texts may appear abnormally on your PC. This is not
an error of JetShell but the information stored in CDDB.
The tracks appear when you right click your mouse.

3. Editing ID3 Tag
You can edit the ID3 tag of a MP3 file by selecting [Tools] [Edit MP3 ID3 Tag] from the JetShell menu.

4. Changing MP3 Bitrate
You can change the bitrate of MP3 files by selecting [MP3 Bit Rate Conversion] from the menu.

5. Downloading Logo File
You can download a logo file to change the logo screen that appears when iAUDIO powers on.
Select [Download Logo File] from the menu. When the "Open" window appears, select the desired logo
file and click Open. Then the logole is downloaded and applied.

Installation CD. To install JetAudio’, run thele "CD-ROM:\JetAudio\setup.exe." For detailed

A. What is Firmware?
Firmware is a program embedded in the hardware, which activates various features.
By upgrading the firmware, you can enhance the features of the product and eliminate the bugs.
B. Notice for Legal Limitations and Responsibilities Regarding Firmware
The performance and menu of iAUDIO may change without prior notice through rmware
upgrades.
When you upgrade thermware, all the data in the ash memory may be deleted.
Therefore, users should back up importantles in iAUDIO before upgrading the rmware.
Allrmware upgrades are intended for overall enhancement of performance.
We recommend not to upgrade rmware if you don't have any problems.
Upgrading firmware is at your own risk.
C. Conditions for Firmware Upgrade
Firmware upgrade can only be possible when iAUDIO driver is properly installed and JetShell can
communicate with iAUDIO without any problems.

Decompress the downloaded le and run the "setup.exe" file from among the decompressed les.
Then the following window appears.
If you have already installed firmware setup program before, the following window may appear. In
this case, click OK to remove previousrmware setup program, then run "setup.exe" again.

When firmware upgrade program finds iAUDIO, the following screen appears.
If you check [Format Data Area] option, all the data stored in the ash memory is deleted.
Therefore, be sure to back up important les in iAUDIO before upgrading.
Furthermore, NEVER remove the USB cable during rmware upgrade, since it may cause
malfunctions. After upgrading firmware, make sure that the status has changed to READY on
the iAUDIO LCD window before disconnecting USB cable. We recommend to run "Safely
Remove Hardware" wizard before disconnecting the cable.
Click Start to upgrade the firmware.
