4. Structuur en materiaal van de
band
Het aantal lagen rubber van de band.
Bandenfabrikanten moeten ook
aangeven welke materialen zijn
gebruikt in de band, zoals staal,
nylon en polyester. De letter "R"
betekent radiaalband; de letter "D"
betekent diagonaalband; en de letter
"B" betekent band met kruislingse
koordlagen.
5. Maximale bandenspanning
Dit getal geeft aan hoe hoog de
bandenspanning maximaal mag zijn.
Overschrijd deze maximale
bandenspanning niet. Zie het
informatielabel voor de aanbevolen
bandenspanning.
6. Maximum belasting
Dit getal geeft het maximale gewicht
in kilo's en ponden aan die de band
kan dragen. Gebruik altijd banden
met dezelfde maximale belasting als
de banden die vanuit de fabriek zijn
geplaatst.
7. Uniforme
bandenkwaliteitsclassificatie
Kwaliteitsgradaties vindt u, indien
van toepassing, op de zijkant van de
band tussen de schouder van het
loopvlak en de maximumbreedte van
de wang.
Bijvoorbeeld:

Slijtage van het profiel
De slijtageclassificatie van het
loopvlak is een relatieve classificatie
gebaseerd op de mate van slijtage
onder gecontroleerde omstandig-
heden op een officieel erkende
testbaan. Voorbeeld: een band met
de aanduiding 150 zal 1,5 keer
langer meegaan dan een band met
de aanduiding 100.
De levensduur van de banden zal in
belangrijke mate afhankelijk zijn van
de gebruiksomstandigheden. De
levensduur kan echter van de norm
afwijken door de rijstijl van de
bestuurder, onderhoud van de
banden, de toestand van de wegen
en het klimaat.
De indicator is bij autobanden
aangebracht op de wang. Welke
banden er standaard of als optie
beschikbaar zijn voor uw auto is
afhankelijk van de uitvoering.
