Important! Do not open the ash pan when lighting up and always keep it closed when the
stove is in use, otherwise you may destroy the automatic control. Open the door only during
lighting, re-firing and cleaning.
Burning (Drawing E)
When there are no more visible yellow flames and an appropriate layer of embers has formed, you may
re-fire the stove. The layer of embers is appropriate when the wood pieces fall apart and the embers
light at the shaking grate.
Put 2-3 logs of new firewood, up to 1 kg a log, inside the stove. There is no need to further regulate the
stove; this will be handled by the automatic system. However, you may adjust the temperature up and
down with the regulation lever (1). If the lever is moved to the minimum setting (lower-most position),
the combustion is reduced, and the burning time is prolonged. If the lever is moved to the maximum
setting (upper-most position), the combustion is increased and the burning time is decreased. Every time
you need to add new firewood, wait until the layer of embers is again sufficiently low.
During combustion, the outer surfaces of the stove will become hot, and due care must
therefore be shown.
Fuelling with coal, patent fuel or carbonised coal
The stove is not designed for fuelling with coal and carbonised coal. However, patent fuel can be used
to fuel the fire and should be placed on the embers produced by the burned wood. Move the regulation
lever to the maximum setting until the kindling is fully ignited.
Remember to bring the regulation lever down again. Be aware that using fuels other than
wood, will cause soot to form on the glass pane.
Operating the heat compartment damper
There is a damper at the front of the stove between the top plate and the heat compartment that opens
and closes the flow of convection air in the heat compartment. The supply of convection air can be opened
by moving the damper to the right and closed by moving the damper to the left.
We recommend that the convection damper is kept closed when fuelling the stove in order to heat up
and thereby store heat in the soapstone interior of the heat compartment as rapidly as possible.
Keeping the convection damper closed retains the heat stored in the soapstone as long as possible. When
the damper is opened, the heat from the soapstone in the heat compartment will rapidly be transferred
to the room.
