16 KOELSYSTEEM

16.1 Koelsysteem

Door de waterpomp 1in de motor vindt er een gedwongen cir-
culatie van het koelmiddel plaats.
De druk die bij verwarming in het koelsysteem ontstaat wordt
geregeld door een klep in de radiateurdop 2. Door de uitzetting
door warmte stroomt het overtollige koelmiddel naar het com-
pensatiereservoir 3. Als de temperatuur daalt wordt dit koel-
middel weer teruggezogen in het koelsysteem. Daardoor is de
aangegeven koelmiddeltemperatuur toegestaan zonder dat er
met functiestoringen rekening moet worden gehouden.

Koeling vindt plaats door de rijwind en een radiateurventilator 4
die bij hoge temperatuur wordt ingeschakeld.
Hoe lager de snelheid, hoe lager de koelwerking. Ook vervuilde
koelribben verlagen de koelwerking.

Als het koelsysteem oververhit raakt, wordt het maximale
motortoerental begrensd.
16.2 Antivries en koelmiddelpeil controleren
Waarschuwing
Gevaar voor brandwonden Koelmiddel wordt bij gebruik van de motorfiets zeer heet en staat onder
druk.
–Open noch de koeler, de koelerslangen noch andere componenten van het koelsysteem, als de
motor of het koelsysteem bedrijfswarm zijn.
–Laat het koelsysteem en de motor afkoelen, alvorens de koeler, de koelerslangen of andere compo-
nenten van het koelsysteem te openen.
–Houd bij verbranding het desbetreffende deel onmiddellijk onder lauwwarm water.
Waarschuwing
Gevaar voor vergiftiging Koelmiddel is giftig en schadelijk voor de gezondheid.
–Bewaar koelvloeistof buiten het bereik van kinderen.
–Voorkom contact van koelvloeistof met de huid, de ogen of kleding.
–Raadpleeg onmiddellijk een arts, als koelvloeistof werd ingeslikt.
–Bij contact met de huid desbetreffende plek onmiddellijk met veel water afspoelen.
–Ogen minstens onmiddellijk grondig met water uitspoelen en onmiddellijk een arts opzoeken, als
koelvloeistof in de ogen is gekomen.
–Wissel uw kleding, als er koelvloeistof op is gekomen.
