PICTOGRAM STITCHES
(Only on 670)
The pictogram stitches (1:39-42) can be programmed and used to create stitch
embroideries. Below, nd a sample on how to create a ower using pictogram
stitches.
For best result when stitching pictogram stitches, use rayon embroidery thread
on top and embroidery weight bobbin thread. Always use tear-away stabilizer
underneath.
1. Touch the programming (PROG) icon to open the
mode for programming (see page 36-38 for instruction
on how to program).
2. Select stitch 1:42, the stitch appears on the Touch
Screen. Select the same stitch again and mirror it end
to end. Press STOP to program a stop then press
the Thread Cutter. Now your machine will sew the
program once, then it stops and cuts the thread ends.
3. Touch the PROG icon to exit the programming mode
and enter Sewing Mode.
4. Mirror your program side to side.
5. On your fabric, mark a center line and a starting point
(A). Place the presser foot as illustrated to the right (B)
and stitch your program.
6. Touch mirror side to side again. Place the presser foot
as illustrated to the right (C) and stitch the program
again.
7. Make another line crossing the center of the “ ower”.
Place the starting point approximately 15 mm from
the center (measure on your fabric, the distance from
center to the starting point should be as long as the
petal of the ower).
8. Place the presser foot as illustrated (D) and stitch your
program.
9. Mirror the program side to side, place the presser foot
as illustrated (E) and stitch your program.
10. Select stitch 1:34, and stitch a stem to your ower (F).
11. Select stitch 1:40 (or 4:17). Press STOP before starting
to sew to stitch only one report of the stitch. Stitch a
leaf to the stem (G).
Turn the ower around, mirror the stitch end to end
and stitch another leaf (H).
Tip: For best result, practice on a piece of scrap fabric rst!
