Ein Raumthermostat schaltet je nach Bedarf das Heizungssystem an oder aus. Er funktioniert, indem
er die Lufttemperatur misst, die Heizung anschaltet, wenn die Lufttemperatur unter den Sollwert fällt,
und sie abschaltet, wenn die eingestellte Temperatur erreicht wurde. Auch wenn die Temperatur beim
Raumthermostat höher eingestellt wird, erfolgt keine schnellere Aufheizung des Raumes. Wie schnell
sich ein Raum aufheizt, hängt vom Heizsystem ab, zum Beispiel von der Größe des Heizkessels und der
Heizkörper.
Die Einstellung hat auch keinen Einfluss darauf, wie schnell sich ein Raum abkühlt. Wenn der Sollwert
am Raumthermostat niedriger eingestellt wird, erfolgt die Haltung der Temperatur auf diesem niedrigem
Niveau.
Das Heizungssystem arbeitet nicht, wenn es durch einen Zeitschalter oder eine Programmierung
abgeschaltet wurde.
Sie sollten den Raumthermostat auf die niedrigste Temperatur einstellen, bei der Sie sich wohlfühlen, und
ihn dann ohne weitere Eingriffe seine Arbeit tun lassen. Die beste Art die richtige Wohlfühltemperatur
zu finden ist es, den Raumthermostat auf eine niedrige Temperatur zu stellen - z.B. 18 °C - und ihn
dann jeden Tag um ein Grad höher zu stellen, gefunden wird, die als angenehm empfunden wird. Der
Thermostat muss dann nicht weiter eingestellt werden. Jede Veränderung über diese Einstellung hinaus
verschwendet Energie und kostet Sie mehr Geld.
