Energy-saving temperature

The lower (heating) or higher

(cooling) temperature that lets

you save on heating and cooling

costs when you’re asleep or

away. Also called the setback

(heating) or setup (cooling)

temperature.

Preprogrammed schedule

This is the schedule pro-

grammed into your thermostat at

the factory. It sets a night pro-

gram that provides energy sav-

ings if you don’t set your own

program, or if your personal pro-
