En haute altitude, le mélange air-carburant standard du carburateur s’enrichit
excessivement. Les performances diminuent alors et la consommation de carburant
augmente. Un mélange très riche encrasse également la bougie et rend le démarrage
difficile.
Même après modification, la puissance du moteur diminuera d’environ 3,5 % pour chaque
palier d’accroissement de 300 mètres d’altitude. L’effet de l’altitude sur la puissance sera
accrue si aucune modification du carburateur n’est opérée.
Les performances à haute altitude peuvent être améliorées grâce à des modifications
spéciales du carburateur. Si vous utilisez toujours votre chasse-neige à des altitudes
supérieures à 1.500 mètres, il conviendra de faire effectuer cette modification du
carburateur par votre revendeur.
Utilisation en altitude élevée
Lorsquelecarburateuraétémodifiépourunfonctionnementenhautealtitude,le
mélange air/carburant est trop pauvre pour une utilisation en basse altitude.
L’utilisation à des altitudes inférieures à 1.500 mètres avec un carburateur modifié
peut entraîner une surchauffe du moteur et provoquer de sérieux dommages au
moteur. Pour une utilisation en basse altitude, f aire remettre le carburateur aux
spécifications initiales d’usine par le concessionnaire.
