CLEANING AND CARE
Cleaning and care
• Prior to cleaning, pull the power plug (4) out of the power outlet. Wait until the device has completely cooled
off.
• Clean the exterior surfaces of the housing with a slightly damp cloth.
• Never immerse electrical parts of the device in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the device
under running water.
• Never use solvents and abrasives, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects for cleaning. Solvents are harmful
to health and attack the plastic parts. Abrasive cleaners and tools do scratch the surface.
• Empty the permanent filter (11) immediately after each use and rinse under running water.
• Clean the carafe (7) and the filter insert (10) after use with warm water and some dishwashing liquid. Then
dry it up.
• Clean the warming plate (6) regularly with a slightly damp cloth.
Decalcification
• Decalcify your device at regular intervals according to amount of limescale and frequency of use.
• A commercial coffee machine descaler can be used. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Put in fresh water and the specified amount of descaler into the water container (2).
• Start the brewing procedure and let the water run through completely. Empty the carafe (7). Repeat the
procedure as necessary.
• Rinse out the device after decalcifying by conducting several brewing procedures in order to remove
descaler residues.
• Rinse the carafe with warm water after decalcifying.
