magazine cover.
2 Remove the nails from the nailer.
CAUTION
To prevent unintentional operation, never touch the
trigger or place the top end of the push lever on a
work bench on floor. Also, never face the nail outlet
toward any part of a person.
HOW TO USE THE NAILER
CAUTION
Never use the top cover or housing of this device as a
hammer.
Take precautions to ensure the safety of persons in
the vicinity during operation.
Squeeze the push lever when drive a nail, otherwise
the piston can not return correctly.
Make sure the nailing depth when the temperature is
above 40°C or below 0°C.
Using the tool for an extended period may lead to oil
around the exhaust outlet or nose, resulting in
spattering.
To ensure that the material to be nailed stays clean,
wipe off any oil that gets on the tool.
1. Nailing procedures
This power tool is equipped with a FULL SEQUENTIAL
ACTUATION MECHANISM.
(1) Intermittent nailing
Depress the nail outlet onto the desired point; then pull
the trigger to drive a nail in a single shot (See Fig. 18).
After nailing once, nailing will not be possible again
until the trigger is released and pressed again.
(2) Push lever
When depressing the nail outlet, be sure to fully lift
the push lever (See Fig. 18) to release the safety lock.
Thus, nails cannot be driven without releasing the
safety lock even though the trigger is pulled.
NT65GS, NT65GB employs a preventive mechanism
for unloaded operation.
NT65GS, NT65GB enters a state where the push lever
cannot be pushed up. This takes place when the
magazine is not loaded with nails or when the
remaining number of nails becomes less than 6 or 9 .
CAUTION
Exercise care when nailing corners of lumber. When
continuous nailing corners of lumber, a nail may go
astray or break through the corner.
Do not drive a nail on another nail.
Do not drive a nail on metal parts.
Use caution not to throw the push lever tip onto wood
when the push lever cannot be pushed up.
NOTE
Under low temperature conditions, the tool
sometimes does not operate correctly. Always operate
the tool at the appropriate ambient temperature.
2. Adjusting the nailing depth
To assure that each nail penetrates to the same depth,
be sure that the tool is always held firmly against the
workpiece.
If nails are driven too deep or shallow into the
workpiece, adjust the nailing in the following order.
1 Remove the fuel cell and the battery from the
nailer. (See Fig. 19).
2 If nails are driven too deep, turn the adjuster to
the shallow side (See Fig. 20(a)).
Adjustments are in half-turn increments.
If nails are driven too shallow, turn the adjuster to
the deep side (See Fig. 20(b)).
3 Stop turning the adjuster when a suitable position
is reached for a nailing test.
4 Connect the fuel cell and the battery to the nailer.
ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTOR.
Perform a nailing test.
5 Remove the fuel cell and the battery from the nailer.
6 Choose a suitable position for the adjuster.
3. Using the hook
The hook can be installed on the right or left side.
1 Securely hold the main unit and remove the screw
using a screwdriver (Fig. 21).
2 Remove the hook and hook plate (Fig. 22).
3 Install the hook on the other side and securely
fasten with screw (Fig. 23).
4. Using the nose cap (See Fig. 24, 25)
If you like to protect the surface of workpiece against
scratches or markings made by the push lever, attach
the accessory nose cap to the push lever.
(1) DISCONNECT BATTERY and FUEL CELL.
(2) Put in the nose cap in the direction of the arrow as
shown in the diagram.
(3) The nose cap is marked to indicate the exit point of
the nail, making alignment easier.
Pull out the tip of the push lever in the reverse order
of attachment.
When not using the nose cap, attach to the storage area
in back of the magazine. (See Fig. 26, 27)
