5.1 Programming with the integrated
manufacturer’s table *)
This function enables you to select the code number from
the manufacturer’s table.
1. Switch on the device you wish to control with the univer
-
sal remote control. If it is a video recorder, set the device
to PLAY, using a video cassette.
2. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) and simultaneously press the device selec
-
tion key (e. g. TV), the code number of which you wish
to programme. You are now automatically taken to the
manufacturer’s table.
3. Using the keys
and , navigate to the manufacturer of
your device.
4. Then select the first or another (if factory pre-program
-
med) code number, using the keys
and .
5. Direct the universal remote control at the device and
check if it reacts to the universal remote control. If pro
-
gramming is unsuccessful with the first code number in
the code list, repeat steps 4 and 5 using the second code
number.
Remark! You can test all keys except the direction and func-
tion keys ( , , , , OK and EXIT).
Important! More than one code may be applicable to the de
-
vice. If the universal remote control does not control all the
functions, try another code.
6. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you automatically
exit the menu.
7. If you want to terminate programming, please press the
EXIT key.
5.2 Programming with the automatic
search function (DEV SEARCH) *)
This function enables you to run code search automatically.
1. Switch on the device you wish to control with the univer-
sal remote control. If it is a video recorder, set the device
to PLAY, using a video cassette.
2. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
3. The menu item CODE SETUP is displayed. Continue
by pressing the OK key once to display the menu item
DEV SEARCH. Confirm the menu item by pressing the OK
key again.
4. Using the device selection key (e. g. TV) select the device
for which you wish to perform an automatic code search.
5. Direct the universal remote control at the device and
press the OK key to start code search. UFB 15 now sends
a new code to the device approx. once every second.
This is displayed by the running code number and the red
flashing device selection key.
6. As soon as the device reacts to the universal remote con
-
trol (device switches off), press any key on the universal
remote control to stop the search.
7. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you automatically
exit the menu.
8. If you don’t confirm the code fast enough, steps 1 to 7
must be repeated.
9. To exit the programming menu, press the EXIT key 2 or 3
times.
5.3 Manual programming (DEV SETUP) *)
This function enables you to manually enter the code number
from the table of codes.
1. Select the code corresponding to your device from the
code list to be ready to enter the number sequence when
prompted.
2. Switch on the device you wish to control with the univer
-
sal remote control.
3. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears. The menu item CODE SETUP is displayed. Then
press the OK key once.
4. Continue by selecting
and the menu item DEV SE-
TUP and confirm your entry by pressing the OK key again.
5. Using the device selection key (e. g. TV) select the device
for which you wish to manually enter the code number
and confirm your entry by pressing the OK key.
6. Then enter the 3-digit code number shown for your de
-
vice in the code list. If more than one code number is
shown in the code list, start with the first code number.
7. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you automatically
exit the menu.
Remark! If you have entered a device code that is not in the
code list, NOT FOUND will be displayed for approx. 1 second.
You can then re-enter the device code!
8. Now point the UFB 15 at the device and check if it reacts
to the universal remote control.
9. If programming is unsuccessful with the first code num
-
ber in the code list, repeat steps 3 to 8 with the second
code number.
Important! More than one code may be applicable to the de-
vice. If the universal remote control does not control all the
functions, try another code.
10. To exit the programming menu press the EXIT key twice.
11. Make a note of the most suitable codes for your device
on the back of the remote control to have these at hand
should you need to re-enter them.
5.4 Code Shift function (CODE SHIFT) *)
The Code Shift function enables you to allocate some device
keys twice, e. g. for a second TV.
1. Select a free device key, e. g. AUX.
2. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears. The menu item CODE SETUP is displayed. Then
press the OK key once.
3. Continue by selecting
and the menu item CODE
SHIFT and confirm your entry by pressing the OK key
again.
4. Using the device selection key (e. g. TV), select the desi
-
red device for which you wish to allocate the device se
-
lection key twice and confirm your entry by pressing the
OK key.
5. Then enter the 3-digit code number shown for your de
-
vice in the code list. If more than one code number is
shown in the code list, start with the first code number.
6. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you exit the menu
automatically.
7. To exit the menu press the EXIT key 2 or 3 times.
6. Macro function (MACRO)
A macro is a sequence of key combinations saving you the
effort of having to press each individual key. You can for in
-
stance start your home entertainment by pressing a single
key.
6.1 Setting up Macros (MACRO1-3) *)
You can set up to 3 macros (MACRO1-3). A maximum of
10 sequential key combinations can be entered.
Remark! Before setting up a macro, ensure that each key that
you want to use for the combination is allocated to a com-
mand. You can test this by pressing the relevant key. The cor
-
responding device selection key must flash red and the trans
-
mission symbol
must be displayed. If this is not so, this
key is not allocated.
1. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
2. Using the keys
and , navigate to the menu item MA-
CRO and press the OK key.
3. Using the keys
and , select MACRO1 or MACRO2 or
MACRO3 and press the OK key to display the menu item
SETUP. Confirm the menu item by pressing the OK key
again to display SELECT KEY.
4. If you want to watch a specific TV programme, for in
-
stance, press the following key sequence:
TV + 0 (change TV to program position 0),
SAT + POWER + 2 (switch on SAT receiver and change to
program position 2).
5. Please press the OK key to save the created key combi
-
nation. SUCCESS will be displayed for about 1 second
before you are automatically taken to the macro menu. To
exit the macro menu press the EXIT key twice.
6.2 Execute a Macro
To activate a macro, press and hold the MACRO key and si-
multaneously press key 1 for MACRO1 (or key 2 for MACRO2
or 3 for MACRO3). The previously created key sequence is
then started.
Remark! Before activating a macro, ensure that all criteria
have been met to execute the commands, e. g. devices in
standby, DVD inserted in the player etc.
6.3 Deleting a Macro (MACRO1-3) *)
You can delete the previously created macro.
1. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
2. Using the keys
and , navigate to the menu item MA-
CRO and press the OK key.
3. Using the keys
and , select the Macro that you want to
delete (MACRO1, MACRO2 or MACRO3) and press the OK
key again.
4. Press the keys
and until DELETE is displayed. Then
press the OK key; the message SURE DELET is now dis
-
played.
5. If you are sure that you want to delete the macro, please
press the OK key again. SUCCESS will be displayed for
about 1 second before you automatically return to the ma
-
cro menu again. To exit the macro menu press the EXIT
key twice.
7. Configuration (CONFIGURE)
You can adapt the pre-set configurations to your needs in this
menu.
7.1 To set the time (TIME SETUP) *)
Set the time in this menu. After entering, the current time is
displayed on your universal remote control.
1. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
2. Using the keys
and , navigate to the menu item CON-
FIGURE and press the OK key to display the menu item
TIME SETUP. Confirm the menu item by pressing the OK
key again.
3. Then enter the current time (12-hour mode) using digits 0-
9. Switch the input fields by using the keys
and .
4. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you automatical
-
ly return to the TIME SETUP menu again. To exit the menu
press the EXIT key twice.
7.2 Volume lock (VOL LOCK) *)
Cancelling the volume lock makes sense if you want to regula-
te the volume of all connected devices for instance via your TV
only. Irrespective of the device mode (DVD, SAT etc.) the volu
-
me will now always be regulated via the TV.
1. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
2. Using the keys
and , navigate to the menu item
CONFIGURE and press the OK key.
3. Then use the keys
and to select the menu item VOL
LOCK and press the OK key again.
4. Press a device selection key (e. g. TV) which you want to
use to cancel the volume lock.
5. Using the keys
and , toggle between OFF and ON to
deactivate the volume lock.
6. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you automatical
-
ly return to the CONFIGURE menu again. To exit the menu
press the EXIT key twice.
Remark! You can select only one device, all the others are
deactivated automatically.
7.3 Locking/Unlocking code number (DEV LOCK) *)
This function can be used to lock the present code number.
The code number can be changed neither by manual input
nor by automatic search.
1. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
2. Using the keys
and , navigate to the menu item CON-
FIGURE and press the OK key.
3. Then select menu item DEV LOCK using the keys
and
and press the OK key again.
4. Press a device selection key e. g. TV, the code number of
which is to be unlocked/locked.
5. Using the keys
and , toggle between OFF and ON to
lock the code number, or between ON and OFF to unlock
the code number.
6. Confirm your entry by pressing the OK key. SUCCESS will
be displayed for about 1 second before you are automati
-
cally taken to the CONFIGURE menu. To exit the menu,
press the EXIT key twice.
Remark! Should you try to change the code number while
it is locked, you will be notified that this function is locked
(LOCKED). You must first unlock the code number again.
7.4 Background light (LIGHT) *)
The background light of the LCD display can be switched on
or off.
1. Press and hold the SET key using a sharp object (e. g.
paperclip) for about 3 seconds until the system menu ap
-
pears.
2. Using the keys
and , navigate to the menu item
CONFIGURE and press the OK key.
3. Using the keys
and , select the menu item LIGHT and
press the OK key again.
4. Using keys
and , toggle between OFF and ON to
switch on the background light, or from ON to OFF to
switch off the background light.
