NOTICE
When cleaning, please note:
Never use soap, sharp, granular, soda
or solvent-based or abrasive cleaning
agents. All-purpose cleaners with a
neutral pH are recommended.
The door seal is sensitive to oil and
grease - the rubber becomes porous
and brittle as a result.
The door seals can be damaged by
unsuitable cleaning agents. Use care
products only on the outer surfaces.
Use only soft cloths for cleaning.
Moisture from the food and ambient air forms
frost on the inside of the appliance. You
should remove ice and frost from the inner
walls of the freezer at least once a year, or at
the latest when the layer of frost is approx. 4
mm thick. Otherwise the ice forms a layer of
insulation, which impedes the cooling output
and increases electricity consumption.
Preparation:
At least 3 hours before disconnecting,
turn the thermostat control (5) to MAX”.
This way, the frozen food gets a cold re-
serve and does not thaw so fast.
What you need to do:
1. Disconnect the mains plug from the
socket after 3 hours.
2. Remove the frozen food. Wrap it thickly
in newspaper and place it in a laundry
basket in a cool room.
You can also use
the fridge.
3. Remove the freezer draw
s , wash them
in warm water with washing up liquid
and dry thoroughly.
4. Place a bowl of hot, but not boiling, wa-
ter in the freezer. This will accelerate the
defrosting process.
5. Leave the door open while defrosting
and place a floor cloth in front of the ap-
pliance to catch thaw water which may
come out.
The defrosting time depends on the
thickness of the ice layer. Experience
dictates that it is possible to start clean-
ing after approx. 1 hour.
6. Wipe down the inside with warm water
and washing-up liquid.
When wiping clean, add a few drops of
vinegar to the water to prevent mould
from forming.
7. Only clean the door seals with clean wa-
ter; they are sensitive to oil and fat.
8. Rub everything dry completely, including
the door seals, and allow to air briefly.
9. Place the food back in the freezer.
10. Plug the mains plug back into the socket
and turn the temperature controller (5) to
“MAX”.
11. As soon as a temperature of -18 °C has
been reached, turn the temperature con-
troller back to its usual position.
