ical marvel that will serve you faithfully for many years.
The most advanced technologies were used throughout
its manufacture and it underwent stringent controls
before it was released for sale.

. Recommendations
Like all micro-mechanical precision instruments, your
Hamilton watch should be checked at least once
every two years. Entrust your watch to an authorized
Hamilton repair center or to any other professional
watch service.
To keep your watch water-resistant, make sure that
its sealing features are tested at every check-up.
Do not move the crown when you are in water.
Rinse o your watch with fresh water after any immer-
sion in seawater.
Dry your watch whenever it gets wet.
Have your watch checked for water-resistance by an
authorized Hamilton retailer or by any other profes-
sional watch service each time the case is opened.

. Leather straps
Hamilton recommends that you follow the steps below
in order to preserve the condition of your leather strap
for as long as possible:
Avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent
discoloration and deformation.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent the
color from fading.
Do not forget that leather is permeable ! Therefore
avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic
products.
If you have a problem with your leather strap, please
contact your nearest Hamilton retailer.
. Batteries
Watch batteries can last between two and ve years,
depending on the watch type, its size and the amount
of energy used by the various functions. If the seconds
hand starts to move in -second steps, the battery
should be changed by your Hamilton agent.
Replacing the battery
We recommend that you contact an approved Hamilton
service center or authorized Hamilton retailer, as they
are equipped with the tools and apparatus required to
carry out the work and the necessary checks in a profes-
sional manner. A worn-out battery should be replaced
immediately in order to reduce the risk of leakage and
consequent damage to the movement.

To prevent malfunctions of your watch avoid coming
into contact with magnetic elds such as those of mag-
nets, loudspeakers, cell phones, refrigerators, etc.

hand. The hour hand moves forwards or backwards
in one-hour jumps. The date changes each time the
hour hand passes  o’ clock midnight.
 Push the crown back in completely to position (p).
Setting the counters to zero

button B.

For lasting, faultless and precise functioning of your
watch, you should read and follow the instructions in
this manual. These apply to all mechanical (manual or
automatic), quartz and chronograph (quartz and au-
tomatic) watches from Hamilton. The following pages
give instructions for the general settings of the time,
date and day and time zone, which are applicable ac-
cording to how many of these functions your model
has. Watches with special functions are explained sub-
sequently according to their movement.

. Quartz watch
Quartz movement. The electrical energy provided by the
battery causes the quartz in the interior of the watch
movement to oscillate , times per second. This
high frequency gives great accuracy. The seconds hand
advances in steps. Important: Do not leave the crown
C
in position (p) for longer than  minutes, as this
might interfere with the time function.


Using the chronograph
Start-Stop function
Timing a single event:
 Press button A: the chronograph starts.
. Press button A: the chronograph stops.
 Press button B to reset to zero.
Note: Before you start timing, the hands should be reset
to zero. If necessary, press button B.
Cumulative time function
This measures successive times. Each result is added
to the previous one.
 Press button A: the chronograph starts.
. Press button
A again: the chronograph stops.
Repeat these two steps as many times as desired. At the
end of the last measurement, the chronograph displays
the total of all the times measured. Press button B to
reset to zero.
Split-time function (intermediate times)
This function allows the display and reading of mul-
tiple successive times measured from the same start-
ing point. The time taken to read the amounts can be
caught up on without disturbing the measurement of
total elapsed time.
 Press button A: the chronograph starts.

again. The chronograph hands catch
up with the time elapsed since the beginning of the
measurement.
 Similarly, press button B again to read a further inter-
mediate time, and once again to cause the hands to
catch up.
 At the end of the whole measurement, press button
A to read the total time.

NB: The maximum catch-up time is  minutes.
. Mechanical watch
Mechanical movement. The most traditional of move-
ments in watchmaking is the mechanical one. To en-
sure that the watch does not stop, it must be wound
regularly – once a day.


. Automatic watch
Automatic movement. The mechanism of the watch
includes an oscillating rotor that winds the mainspring
via the motion of your wrist. The running reserve is ap-
proximately  hours ( hours for the caliber H- and
H-). If necessary, the watch may be rewound manually.
With most of our models, the beauty of the inner work-
ing of the watch movement can be admired through
the transparent case back.



On certain models the crown C is screwed in to guarantee optimal water-resistance. It must be unscrewed to make
adjustments. After adjustments make sure it is screwed in again.
> Please note that water-resistance is only guaranteed when the crown is screwed in.
. Tachymeter or Tachymiler
Scale showing the average speed of a vehicle. Using the chronograph Start-Stop function, measure the time taken
to travel  km or  mile. The average speed can be read on the tachymeter or tachymiler scale.
Example:  km or  mile traveled in  seconds =  km/h or  miles/h
. EOL function
Indication of the end of battery life. If the seconds hand starts to move in -second steps, the battery should be
changed by your Hamilton agent.

Scale for measuring elapsed time.
 Turn the bezel
E counterclockwise until the arrow points to the minutes hand.
. The minutes hand will indicate the elapsed time on the graduated scale of the rotating bezel.

2. Soins et entretien
. Recommandations
Votre montre Hamilton, comme toute microméca-
nique de précision, doit être contrôlée au moins une
fois tous les deux ans. Veillez à ne coner votre montre
qu’à votre concessionnaire Hamilton ou à tout autre
revendeur professionnel.
Pour préserver l’étanchéité de votre montre, assu-
rez-vous que ses dispositifs d’étanchéité sont vériés
lors de chaque contrôle.
Ne touchez pas à la couronne lorsque vous êtes dans
l’eau.
Rincez votre montre avec de l’eau douce après chaque
immersion dans de l’eau de mer.
Séchez votre montre chaque fois qu’elle présente des
traces d’humidité.
Demandez à votre concessionnaire Hamilton ou à tout
autre revendeur professionnel de vérier l’étanchéité
de votre montre après toute ouverture du boîtier.

. Bracelets en cuir
Hamilton vous recommande de prendre les mesures sui-
vantes pour garder votre bracelet en cuir en bon état aussi
longtemps que possible:
Éviter tout contact avec l’eau et l’humidité pour pré-
venir toute décoloration et déformation.
Éviter une exposition prolongée au soleil pour préve-
nir la perte d’éclat de la couleur.
N’oubliez pas que le cuir est perméable! Évitez
donc tout contact avec des matières grasses et des
cosmétiques.
En cas de problème avec votre bracelet en cuir, veuil-
lez prendre contact avec votre détaillant Hamilton le
plus proche.
. Piles
La durée de vie d’une pile peut varier de deux ans à cinq
ans, suivant le type de mouvement ainsi qu’à la quantité
d’énergie utilisée par les diérentes fonctions. Si l’aiguille
des secondes se déplace par paliers de  secondes, cela
signie qu’il est temps de faire changer la pile par votre
agent Hamilton.
Echange de la pile
Nous vous recommandons de contacter un centre de ser-
vice Hamilton agréé ou un vendeur Hamilton autorisé.
Ils disposent de l’outillage et des appareils requis pour
entreprendre ce travail de manière professionnelle. Une
pile épuisée doit être changée aussi vite que possible
pour éviter le risque de fuite qui peut endommager le
mouvement.

Pour un fonctionnement durable, exact et précis de
votre montre, vous devez lire et suivre les instructions de
ce manuel. Elles se rapportent à toutes les montres: quel
soit automatique, à remontage manuel ainsi qu’à quartz.
Les pages suivantes fournissent des instructions concer-
nant les réglages de l’heure, de la date, du jour, et du
fuseau horaire, qui s’appliquent en fonction du nombre
de fonctions dont dispose votre modèle. Les montres
à fonctions spéciales sont décrites ensuite en fonction
de leur mouvement. Pour plus de détails et d’explica-

. Montre à quartz
Mouvement à quartz. L’énergie électrique de la pile fait
osciller le quartz à l’intérieur du mouvement   fois
par seconde. Cette fréquence élevée permet une grande
précision. L’aiguille des secondes avance par saccades.
Important: Ne laissez pas la couronne
C
en position
(p) pendant plus de  minutes. Cela peut créer des
interférences avec la fonction horaire.

Réglage de l’heure
 Tirez entièrement la couronne C en position (p):
l’aiguille des secondes stoppe*.

Utilisation du chronographe
Fonction «start/stop»
Chronométrage d’un événement isolé:
 Appuyez sur le poussoir A: le chronographe démarre.
. Appuyez sur le poussoir A: le chronographe s’arrête.
 Appuyez sur le poussoir B: remise à zéro.
Attention: avant de démarrer un chronométrage, les
aiguilles devraient être remises à zéro. Si nécessaire,
appuyez sur le poussoir B.
Fonction temps partiels
Elle mesure des événements successifs. Chaque résultat
s’ajoute aux précédents.
 Appuyez sur le poussoir A: le chronographe démarre.
. Appuyez de nouveau sur le poussoir A: le chrono-
graphe s’arrête.
Répétez ces deux étapes autant de fois que vous le
désirez. A la n de la dernière étape, le chronographe
indique le temps total, autrement dit le temps cumulé
de toutes les étapes. Appuyez sur le poussoir
B
pour
remettre à zéro.
Fonction rattrapante (temps intermédiaires)
Dispositif permettant l’achage de plusieurs temps suc-
cessifs mesurés à partir de la même origine, le temps de
lecture pouvant être rattrapé sans perturber la mesure.
 Appuyez sur le poussoir
A
: le chronographe démarre.
. Appuyez sur le poussoir
B
pour lire le premier temps
intermédiaire.
 Appuyez de nouveau sur le poussoir B. Les aiguilles
du chronographe rattrapent le temps écoulé depuis
le début de la course.
 Procédez de même, appuyez une fois sur le poussoir
B, pour lire chaque temps intermédiaire et appuyez
une nouvelle fois sur le poussoir B pour que les
aiguilles rattrapent de nouveau le temps écoulé.
 A la n de la course, appuyez sur le poussoir (A) pour
lire le temps total.
 Appuyez sur le poussoir B pour remettre à zéro.

Mouvement automatique. Le mécanisme de la montre
est muni d’une masse oscillante qui permet de remonter
le ressort grâce aux mouvements de votre poignet. La
réserve de marche est d’environ  heures ( pour H-
et H-). En cas de besoin, la montre peut être remontée
manuellement. Pour la plupart de nos modèles, la beau-
té de leur mécanisme peut être admirée à travers le fond
transparent du boîtier.



Chronométrage d’un événement isolé:

 Appuyez sur le poussoir B: remise à zéro.
Attention: avant de démarrer un chronométrage, les
aiguilles devraient être remises à zéro. Si nécessaire,
appuyez sur le poussoir B.
Fonction temps partiels
Elle mesure des événements successifs. Chaque résultat
s’ajoute aux précédents.
 Appuyez sur le poussoir A: le chronographe démarre.
. Appuyez de nouveau sur le poussoir A: le chrono-
graphe s’arrête.
Répétez ces deux étapes autant de fois que vous le
désirez. A la n de la dernière étape, le chronographe
indique le temps total, autrement dit le temps cumulé
de toutes les étapes. Appuyez sur le poussoir
B
pour
remettre à zéro.

. Couronne vissée
Sur certains modèles, la couronne C est vissée pour
garantir une étanchéité optimale. Dévissez-la pour ac-
céder aux réglages. Après réglage veillez à la revisser.
> Veuillez noter que l’étanchéité n’est garantie que si la
couronne est vissée.
. Tachymètre ou Tachymiler
Échelle qui permet de mesurer la vitesse moyenne d’un
véhicule. Chronométrez le temps nécessaire pour par-
courir  km ou  mile. La vitesse moyenne se lit sur le
tachymètre ou le tachymiler.
Exemple:  km ou  mile parcouru en  secondes = 
km/h ou  miles/h
. Fonction EOL
Indication de n de vie de la pile. Si l’aiguille des se-
condes avance par saccades de quatre secondes, la pile
doit être changée par votre distributeur agréé Hamilton.
. Temps écoulé sur la lunette rotative
externe
Échelle permettant de mesurer un temps écoulé.
 Tournez la lunette E dans le sens inverse des aiguilles
d’une montre jusqu’à ce que la èche pointe sur l’ai-
guille des minutes.
. L’aiguille des minutes indiquera le temps écoulé sur

Wie alle mikromechanischen Präzisionsinstrumente soll-
te auch Ihre Hamilton Uhr mindestens alle zwei Jahre
überprüft werden. Überlassen Sie Ihre Uhr einem auto-
risierten Hamilton Reparaturzentrum oder einem pro-
fessionellen Uhrenservice.
Sorgen Sie dafür, dass die Wasserdichtigkeit Ihrer Uhr
bei jeder Überprüfung der Uhr mitgetestet wird.
Betätigen Sie die Krone nicht, wenn Sie im Wasser sind.
Spülen Sie Ihre Uhr mit klarem Wasser ab, wenn sie mit
Salzwasser in Kontakt gekommen ist.
Trocknen Sie Ihre Uhr stets ab, wenn sie nass geworden
ist.
Lassen Sie immer die Wasserdichtigkeit Ihrer Uhr von
einem autorisierten Hamilton Händler oder einem pro-
fessionellen Uhrenservice überprüfen, wenn das Gehäu-
se geönet worden ist.

Damit Ihr Lederarmband so lange wie möglich in gutem
Zustand bleibt, empehlt Hamilton, folgende Hinweise
zu beachten:
Vermeiden Sie Kontakt mit Wasser und Feuchtigkeit, um
Verfärbungen und Formveränderungen zu verhindern.
Setzen Sie das Armband nicht über längere Zeit dem
Sonnenlicht aus, damit die Farbe nicht verblasst.
Vergessen Sie nicht, dass Leder durchlässig ist! Vermei-
den Sie deshalb Kontakt mit fettigen Substanzen und
Kosmetikprodukten.
Wenn Sie mit Ihrem Lederarmband ein Problem haben,
setzen Sie sich bitte mit Ihrem nächstgelegenen Hamil-
ton-Händler in Verbindung.
. Batterien
Die Batterielaufzeit von Uhren beträgt zwischen zwei und
fünf Jahren, abhängig vom Uhrentyp, der Größe der Uhr
und der Energiemenge, die von den jeweiligen Funktionen
verbraucht wird. Wenn der Sekundenzeiger in -Sekunden-
Schritten zu springen beginnt, muss die Batterie von Ihrem
Hamilton-Händler ausgetauscht werden.
Austauschen der Batterie
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, sich an einen autorisierten Hamilton
Wartungsdienst, oder eine Hamilton-Boutique zu wen-
den, da diese Stellen über die Werkzeuge und Prüfgeräte
verfügen, die für eine fachgerechte Ausführung dieser
Arbeit erforderlich sind. Eine leere Batterie sollte so bald
wie möglich ausgetauscht werden, um das Risiko des
Auslaufens und die daraus folgende Beschädigung des
Uhrwerks zu vermeiden.
