10 My First Play World - City
Free play fun
In free play your child will explore the different play figures and bring them to life.
Play with your child and talk about life in the town and the tasks of the police. Together think
about where and in which situations you have already seen the police in action. In this way you
are stimulating your child’s language and listening skills, as well as enhancing his imagination.
Depending on their age children will develop their own little role-play games and start to tell
more and more stories when playing with the figures. Additional game material like building
blocks or found items such as; sticks, stones or string can be integrated into the game. Your
imagination can provide hours of endless fun! Stimulate your child to try threading the figures
or to have fun with the exciting threading games!
Look and Thread Game
For 1 to 2 children age 2+
Educational topics:
¬ #LOSE¬OBSERVATION
¬ -OTOR¬SKILLS
Before starting to play:
Place all play figures on the table with the assignment cards next to them.
Allow the child to choose which assignment card she wants to do first. If there are two
children playing they each should take the assignment cards of one color.
The order of the figures is different on each assignment card and also varies on
the front and back of these cards. In total there are eight different assignments
shown on the four cards.
And you’re off:
The child has a good look at his assignment card. What appears first, the bank or the
police station? The child searches for the corresponding starting piece and places it in
front of him. Then he will thread the other figures on the threading cord attached to it.
The child always searches for the next play figure shown on the assignment card and
threads it accordingly on the cord.
It is important that the play environment can stay set up in
the children’s room for a couple of days. In this way your
child has the possibility to add something every day or go
on playing in the same way over and over again. Repetition
is important in early learning and experimenting.
