Game Idea

Racing against the approach of the boat of the water voles to Wally’s Big Island the players

build lighthouses on the neighboring islands. Each island has its own two island colors, which

have to be taken into account when building a lighthouse. A ﬁ nished lighthouse is made up

of four lighthouse disks of alternating island colors with a yellow light on top. The two dice

determine whether the voles’ boat is moved or if a lighthouse continues to be built. If the latter

is not possible Wally Walrus moves ahead one island. In order to ﬁ nish their lighthouses faster

the players may also share lighthouse disks with each other. Also, once Wally has ﬁ nished a

complete trip around the islands, another lighthouse disk may be added.

The aim of the game is to build all the lighthouses before the water voles’ boat reaches Wally’s

Island.

Preparation of the Game

Place Wally’s Island in the center of the table. Distribute the island cards according to the

number of players. If there are three or four players each player gets two island cards, if there

are two players each player receives four island cards. On one of the island cards there is the

picture of Wally Walrus. This card must be among the island cards you play with. Turn the island

cards face down, shufﬂ e them and distribute them. Each player places them in a row in front

of him. Take the eight sea cards and arrange them in a route that leads to Wally’s Island. Place

the boat in front of the ﬁ rst sea card and Wally Walrus next to the island showing his picture.

Distribute the lighthouse disks and the top lights around the big island within easy reach of all

players. Get both dice ready.
