Friend Benny is a fuzzy bear and
Hand puppet bear stays hidden behind the back.
Charlotte searches for him everywhere
Hand puppet sheep appears from behind the back.
She looks around: but where can he be caught?
Turn hand puppet sheep to the right and to the left.
And with a frown, scratches her chin in thought
Child scratches his chin with one hand.
A bright idea comes to Charlotte, the sheep
Child touches his head with one hand.
So she runs to the lake, top speed in a sweep
Hand puppet sheep jumps forward.
Where there is Benny so happy he is found
Hand puppet bear appears from behind the back.
That laughter abounds with hugs all around
Hand puppets hug.
3. Good night, dear animals!
One fall asleep rhyme for each hand puppet: hare, bear and sheep.
One by one the three hand puppets are put to sleep.
Henry Hare stretches out and lolls
Makes himself comfortable next to the dolls
Oh how nice, such wonderful quiet
Now I‘ll sleep deeply all through the night.
Child stretches and puts hand puppet hare to sleep.
“Sleep deep and sound my little honey!”
Whispers Mummy bear to her little Benny
And then she bends to give him that kiss
That every night he never wants to miss
Child kisses hand puppet bear good night and puts it to sleep.
Charlotte comes trotting across the lawn
her mouth wide open, with a tremendous yawn!
And slips amidst the straw, the favorite of sheep
Fast asleep, with not even a peep.
Child yawns and puts hand puppet sheep to sleep.
Hint: You can of course think of your own stories with the hand puppets.
Carry out small movements and speak in short sentences: for example say
“Hello” with the hand puppets and bow to each other.
