Game#1: The Magic Elves
Which magic elf will be the quickest to find by touch the wooden
figure being searched for thus collecting the most points?
A quick tactile game, that is perfect for 2 - 4 magic elves.
Preparation of the Game
Place the game board in the center of the table. Each player takes
a game counter and places it on the bed shown on the game
board (= starting square). Put the 15 wooden figures in the bag
and mix them up by shaking the bag. Shuffle the 15 cards and
put them in a pile face down next to the game board. Get the
hourglass ready. The die is not needed for this game and is
returned to the game box.
How to Play
Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever has already seen a gremlin
in his life may start. If you cannot agree the youngest player is the
first magic elf.
The other players together shout the starting signal “Fiddlesticks!”
and then turn over the hourglass.
The magic elf turns over the card from the top of the pile and
tries to find by touch the corresponding wooden figure of the
right size and shape and then pull it out of the bag. After pulling
a piece from the bag, the elf then places the piece on the card to
check if it is the correct matching shape.
The wooden figure coincides exactly with the one shown
on the card?
• Yes?
Well done! Quickly turn over the next card of the pile and try
to feel for this figure in the bag
• No?
An elf’s bad luck! Unfortunately your turn is over.
The last grain has slipped through the hourglass?
Whoever notices the time is out shouts “Stop, elf!” The magic
elf immediately has to stop feeling inside the bag and may not
pull any more wooden figures out from the bag.
Scoring
For each wooden figure correctly pulled out of the bag the magic
elf receives one point and moves his counter the corresponding
number of squares on the game board.
