1. Clever bear and the professions
An assigning game for one child and an adult.
Preparation of the Game
All cards are put face up on the table.
Get the frame and clever bear ready.
How to Play
The adult chooses a card and puts it in front of the child who then
searches for the matching card. They place both cards next to each other
in the frame and then use the clever bear to check their choice.
• Both cards make up a pair?
Well done! Describe which profession you relieve it is. If you don’t
know exactly which profesión, the bear represents an adult who can
help you. Then place both cards face down in front of you and search
for the next pair of cards.
• The two cards do not match?
Pity! You will no doubt find a matching pair in your next turn. Return
the cards and take a turn at finding another pair of cards.
End of the Game
The game ends as soon as all the pairs have been found.

Clever Bear Checks
Take the frame and place both cards
in a way that the punched areas
show towards each other. Now
insert the clever bear into the hole.
Does he fit exactly?
Then it is a matching pair.
He doesn’t fit?
Then the cards do not show a pair.
Dear Parents,
The pairs of cards show different career professions. Before starting to play, have a
look at the images on the cards with your children and give them a detailed
explication of the professions shown.
Example: a chimney sweep is usually dressed in black. He uses his long brushes to
clean sooty chimneys and heating systems. He also assesses the fireproofness and
advises homeowners about heating techniques and fire prevention. It is said that
encountering a chimney sweep brings luck.
Have your children describe the professions and their characteristics. The following
questions may be useful: What does the bear wear? What tools does he need? Is there
a special vehicle for the profession?
The game includes the following professions:
• doctor • painter
• construction worker • trash collector
• fireman/firewoman • policeman/policwoman
• cook • ship’s captain
• farmer • chimney sweep
You can also talk about other professions which your children know from everyday life,
and their characteristics.
