The Pirate Disks

You can mark the numbers 0 to 109 on the pirate disk.

It consists of three parts:

• inner disk shows the unit mark

• the disk in the middle shows the decimal mark

• on the outside disk you mark the number chosen.

Have a go and turn the pirate disk so that it marks the

number 15.

The arithmetic disk

With the arithmetic disk you can check your results.

All numbers between 1 and 10 can be combined.

Try it with the operation 8 + 5:

In order to get the answer look for the

combination 8 / 5 on the arithmetic disk and mark it.

Now you can read the result in the window of the Plus sign

(black frame)!

Hint: In some variations apart from addition (plus) you will have to solve problems with

subtraction (minus) and multiplication (multiply). If you want to know the result of

the operation “8 – 5” or “8 x 5” refer to the minus window (red) or the multi-

plication window (green).
