Aim of the game

Who will, with a bit of luck and a good overview, be the quickest to

collect all the ingredients?

Preparation of the game

Make the jigsaw of the game board on the table or the floor.

• Assemble the farmhouse (two parts) and place it in the center of the

game board where the cobbles are shown.

• Each player chooses a male or female farmer and leans him/her

against any of the walls of the farmhouse.

•The cow is placed inside the fenced pasture on one of the cows

shown.

•The chicken is placed in the chicken run on any of the nests shown.

•The four apples are placed on their corresponding places in the apple

tree.

•The four carrots are placed one on each batch in the carrot field.

•The four bales of hay and grain tiles are placed on each of their cor-

responding pictures on the game board.

• All the sacks of flour, the bread, the milk churns and the pieces of

cheese, as well as both dice and the three tractor tiles, are kept ready

next to the game board.

• Choose a problem card you want to play with. The more pictures on

the back the more difficult the game will be and the longer it will last.

•The other problem cards are kept in the box.

•The four cow-pat tiles are also kept in the box. They are needed later

for the fertilizer variation of the game.

The idea of this educational game is to acquaint children with natural nutritional cycles, so that

they understand and repeat them through play.

For example:

- Cows are fed with hay.

-The cow gives milk.

-The dairy processes milk into cheese.

Or:

- Grain grows in the field.

-The grain is ground into flour in the mill.

- Flour is used to bake bread.

The children will learn how certain types of food are obtained and how the stages of obtaining

and producing food is intertwined. The problem cards show these sequences in detail.

Before playing the first time with the rules, the children can use the game material in free play.

Talk to them about the farm, the animals and the different food.

Discover the things on the game board together by asking simple questions and also by inviting

the children to ask questions themselves.
