Game 1: Recognizing
An educational 'warm up' game for grocery recognition.
Who at the end will have the most groceries in front of them?
Preparation of the game
Put all the groceries in the center of the table. Shuffle the cards
and arrange them face down around the groceries.
How to play
Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever has most recently been to
a supermarket may start. If you cannot agree, the youngest
player starts.
Uncover a card and name the type of food shown.
Where is it at the moment?
In the center of the table?
Take it and keep it in front of you.
In front of another player?
This player has to hand it over to you. Now keep it in front
of you.
In front of you?
Nothing happens!
The uncovered card is returned to the game box.
Then it's the turn of the next player.
End of the game
The game ends when the last item has been taken from the
center. The player with the most groceries wins the game. In the
case of a tie there are various winners.

Dear children
Before starting to play have a look at the groceries. Do you
know the names of them all? Or are there some items you don't
know yet? Explain to each other what you know about the
groceries. If you are not sure or have questions ask an adult for
help.
Once you know all the groceries, put them in the shopping bag.
One by one, you try to recognize the groceries by touch: one
player says the name of an item and the player next to them
feels for it in the bag. It's not that easy!
Have you recognized all the groceries by touch? Well done. Now
you can start with the first game.
We wish you lots of fun!
Your inventor team!
Hint: All the game material is perfectly suited for “Free
games” (for example role play “at the corner shop”).
