Preparation of the Game
Shuffle the cards and put them face down on the table. Arrange them
neatly in four rows making sure they don't touch each other.
Get the caterpillar die and the shamrocks ready.
How to Play
Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever can crawl the most like a
caterpillar may start. If you can't agree, the youngest player starts by
rolling the caterpillar die.
Now try to find among the cards the four colors which appear on the die,
starting with the color on the die next to the head of the caterpillar and
uncovering any card.
Does the color match?
• No?
Pity! Everybody should look at the card and then cover it up again.
Your turn is over.
• Yes?
Well done! The card remains face up and you uncover another one. Do
this for as long as the order of the colors coincides! If you uncover a
card that does not match your turn is over and you must turn over the
cards again so you cannot see the colors.
As soon as you have uncovered the four colors in the right order, you
get a shamrock as a reward.
Then it's the turn of the next player to roll the caterpillar die.
End of the Game
The game ends as soon as a player has collected three shamrocks thus
winning this colorful caterpillar game.
