2. Letter Yatzi

Objective:

Who can - helped by a good ability of quick combination and

some luck with the dice - compose the longest word with the

highest score?

How to play:

Before starting to play you agree on a number of playing

rounds. The first player throws all 13 dice and tries to com-

pose one single word.

You put aside the suitable dice. The letters which don’t fit are

put back in the tumbler and are thrown again. With each

throw at least one letter has to be put aside, although it may

not be useful for the word.

At the end of the agreed time you add the numerical

value of each word. If a letter is part of two words, it

counts double. From this sum you then have to subtract the

numerical value of the letters not used.

The joker, which can replace any letter or be used

as hyphen, is not counted.

Then it’s the turn of the next player to throw the

dice and compose words.The winner is the player

who gets the most points after the agreed number of rounds.

Variation:

When a player finishes composing his or her words, all the pla-

yers together can try to make up a funny sentence with the

words.
