HF – Setting the modulator channel
The display indicates "
HHFF
".
With the ɼɦbuttons, you can select an HF channel between
C 25 and C 60 of the PLL modulator. The channels C 21 to
C 24 are not specified.
SAt A/b – Allocating the Cinch audio output
and the modulator
It is possible to pass the sound signals to a hifi system via the
sockets
´?
at the back of the receiver. At the factory, these
sockets and the modulator are allocated to reception unit A.
Using the ɦ button, they can be allocated to reception unit B.
The display then will indicate "SAt b"
ATS – Automatic tuning system
The automatic tuning system (ATS) is especially useful if you
use LNCs with oscillator frequencies other than 9.75 or
10 GHz. It avoids the need of complex conversions.
The system searches in the direction of increasing frequen-
cies for the next receivable station and tunes to it.
Start the
AATTSS
mode with the
ɦ button. The picture is optimally
tuned to if the programme position number and the frequency
indication flash alternately in the display.
Please note down the station name and the frequency.
Press the MEMORY button to store every station which has a
good reception quality. This will automatically switch to the next
programme position.
Press the
ɦ button to restart the
AATTSS
function.
If the tuning system finds a signal which is not worthy of
reception (e.g. D2 MAC or encoded signals), start the tuning
system again without storing by pressing the ɦ button.
The station is not stored in memory.
This will be continued beyond the frequency range limit
(2050 MHz) until the system arrives again at the starting
point with the frequency that you have noted down. Do not
store this programme position as this has already been done.
MODE Functions Step-by-step selection with the MODE button
nor ... – Norm
With the norm function, it is possible to set the norm of the
output signal (Pin 19) of the decoder socket and to allocate
the decoder socket to the reception unit A or B.
Norm 1: PAL signal from reception unit A.
Norm 2: Baseband with non-clamped PAL deemphasis from
reception unit A or B.
Norm 3: Baseband with non-clamped linear deemphasis
from reception unit A or B.
Norm 4: PAL signal from reception unit A or B.
Note:
As your twin receiver has two separate reception units but
only one decoder socket, the reception unit B has priority for
the decoder with the norm settings 2/3/4. As long as the
decoder is to decode only one programme (e.g. Première),
this is without importance. However, if Première should
encode a second programme according to the same system,
the reception unit B (video recorder) has automatically priori-
ty if both reception units happen to be set to programmes
using the same encoding system (a number of english trans-
mitters operate with the Videocrypt encoding system). Refer
also to the hints given in chapter "Important Information".
Attention!
After having recorded an encoded programme via the recep-
tion unit B you should always select a non-encoded pro-
gramme position. The decoder then is available again for the
reception unit A (reception unit B has priority if a decoder is
connected).
dEE – Audio deemphasis
The display indicates "dEE".
The deemphasis function can only be selected if you have
selected "Main carrier, Mono, ton 1" in the AUDIO mode. If
this is the case, you can select between the audio deem-
phasis J 17 and 50 µs with the ɼɦbuttons.
For the settings "ton 2" and "ton 3", this function is not re-
quired and therefore not indicated.
