Radiotext
Some RDS stations transmit “radiotext” information. This is additional infor-
mation about the station and its programme.
1 Select a channel position with an RDS station by pressing »1 ... 10 «.
– »
f« and the station name appear in the display.
2 Activate the ”radiotext” function by pressing »TXT«.
– If the selected RDS station offers ”radiotext”, »TEXT« appears in the
display, and the ”radiotext” offered appears as a message in the dis-
play.
Note:
The speed at which the message is displayed can be increased by hold-
ing »TXT« pressed down.
If “radiotext” is not provided by the selected station, »NO TEXT«
appears in the display, then the station frequency.
3 Exit function by pressing »TXT«.
– The »TEXT« indicator disappears.
PTY programme type code
RDS provides the option of selecting FM stations according to programme
type. A total of 16 programme types are defined.
1 Select the desired RDS station with the »1 ... 10« buttons.
– Display: »
f« and the station name.
2 Activate the programme type function by pressing »PTY«.
– Display: »PTY« and the programme type of the selected radio station.
3 Select programme type by repeatedly pressing »PTY« until the desired
programme type appears in the display.
4 Start the search for programme type by pressing »+ «or»–«
(TUNING) within 5 seconds.
– The device searches for a station with the selected programme type.
Note:
The search can be interrupted by pressing »+«or»–« (TUNING).
Displaying the programme type of a selected station
1 Press »PTY«.
– Display: the programme type of the station, or »NONE« if the station
momentarily does not transmit a code.
– Display: »NO PTY« if the station normally does not transmit a code.
