Nero Digital™ is de optimale oplossing voor video- en audio co-
decs.
Codecs zijn nodig voor het bewerken en afspelen van audio- en
videobestanden.
Met de Codec van Digital™ kunt u het volledige beeld- en ge-
luidsmateriaal van een dvd op een normale gegevens-cd opslaan
zonder waarneembaar kwaliteitsverlies.
De audio- en videocodes van Nero Digital™ zijn volledig
gebaseerd op de industriestandaard MPEG-4 Video ISO 14496-
2 en MPEG-4 Audio High Efficiency AAC en Parametric Stereo
AAC.
Nero Digital™-bestanden hebben de extensie .MP4.
De Nero Digital™-bestanden kunnen een videotrack, tot 8 audio-
tracks en tot 32 zogenaamde overlay tracks (b.v. ondertitels)
bevatten.
Voor het maken van Nero Digital™-bestanden is de software
“Nero Recode” of “Nero Vision Express” nodig. Meer informatie

MP4-video-cd
MP4-video is een encoder/decoder die op de mpeg4-compressie
gebaseerd is en voor de decodering en weergave van gecompri-
meerde videogegevens gebruikt wordt.
De dvd-speler maakt hierdoor het afspelen van in Mp4 gecom -
primeerde video’s mogelijk. Hierdoor wordt een afspeelkwaliteit
met minder artefacten en hogere compressie bereikt.
Mp4-videobestanden hebben de extensie .avi. Mp4-videogege-
vens wordt met de audiogegevens, die met mp3 gecomprimeerd
werden, in dit avi-bestand “verpakt”, dat betekent:
mp4-video en mp3-audio is het avi-bestand.
Mp3-cd
Mp3 staat voor MPEG-1 audio layer 3 en komt van de Motion
Picture Expert Group (MPEG) standaard, die voor het com -
primeren van filmgegevens ontworpen werd.
Door het mp3-formaat is het mogelijk om audiogegevens in bijna
cd-kwaliteit op een computer op te slaan. Hierbij is slechts
ca. 10 % van de oorspronkelijke datahoeveelheid nodig.
Standaard worden mp3-bestanden met een bitsnelheid van
128 kpbs gecodeerd. Principieel geldt, hoe hoger de bitsnelheid
van een mp3-bestand is, hoe beter de geluidskwaliteit.
Op het internet zijn de meeste mp3-files met 128 resp. 160 kbps
gecodeerd. 160 kbps wordt al als cd-kwaliteit beschouwd.
