Mains operation
Note:
Check that the mains voltage on the type plate (on the bottom of the
device) corresponds to your local mains supply.
If this is not the case, contact your specialist dealer.
1 Insert the mains cable supplied (in the battery compartment) in the
»AC
~
« socket on the back of the radio recorder.
2 Insert the power cord plug into the socket.
Caution:
The only way to disconnect the device from the mains supply is to pull
out the plug.
Battery operation
1 Open the battery compartment by pressing the snap-catch, and remove
the lid.
2 Insert six batteries (6 x 1.5V/Type IEC/LR20/AM1/D size), observing
the polarity marked on the base of the battery compartment.
Note:
Remove the batteries when they are flat or when you know that the
device will not be used for a long period of time.
No liability is accepted for damage resulting from leaking batteries.
The batteries are switched off during mains operation.
Environmental note:
Batteries, including those which contain no heavy metal, may not be
disposed of with household waste. Please dispose of used batteries in an
environmentally sound manner. Find out about the legal regulations
which apply in your area.

Adjusting the volume
1 Adjust the volume using the » VOLUME« knob.
Activating the Ultra Bass System
This function boosts the bass frequencies.
1 Press »UBS« to switch the function on and off.
Listening with headphones

Connect the headphones to the headphone socket »

device) (ø 3.5 mm).
– This automatically switches off the loudspeakers.
Note:
Prolonged listening at loud volumes on headphones can damage your
hearing.

Antennas
1 For FM (VHF) stations extend the telescopic antenna and tilt and turn it
to achieve the best reception.
Note:
If the FM signal is too strong, it is advisable to push in the telescopic
antenna.
In case of poor reception:
If your FM stereo reception is impaired by interference due to insufficient
signal strength, this can sometimes be rectified by setting the
»MONO/ST« switch (on the back of the device) to »MONO«. The
FM station is played in mono.
2 The Radio Recorder has a built-in rod antenna for MW reception. Turn
the radio recorder about its own axis to point the antenna.
Radio reception
1 Switch on the Radio Recorder and set the »TAPE/OFF RADIO CD«
switch to »RADIO«.
– The »ON
« indicator lights up.
2 Select the frequency band (FM, MW) using the band selection switch
»FM . . MW«.
3 Use the »TUNING« knob to tune to a station.
4 Switch off the Radio Recorder by setting the switch to the »TAPE/OFF«
position.
– The »ON
« indicator goes out.
