Installing the mounting frame,
the radio and the aerials
Your dealer can advise you as to what installation materials you will
need and what accessories are available.
1 Insert the mounting frame b into the cutout a of the vehicle
(Fig. 1) (the figures are to be found on page 45).
2 Bend the tabs c behind the cutout a as required, that is,
depending on the type of vehicle (Fig. 1).
3 Insert the radio all the way into the installed mounting frame b.
The radio snaps into place.
Note:
Your car radio is a device of high power. That is why it can get
hot during operation. For this reason, make sure that leads or
other parts cannot touch the radio, as this might cause the
insulations to melt resulting in a short circuit and even in fire.
4 To remove the car radio, insert the two removal handles d as far
as possible into the openings in the trim (Fig. 5).
5 Press both removal handles outwards and slowly pull the radio
out (Fig. 5).
For DAB reception the radio requires a DAB rod aerial. For this, a
special screw terminal (FME connector) is provided on the rear
panel (Fig. 3).
The car radio is designed for aerials with an impedance of 75 Ω to
150 Ω. Extended aerial cables, e.g. for aerials at the rear of the
car, may impair reception.
For the installation of the DAB and radio aerials, see Fig. 2.
Fuse
Blade-type fuse T 10 A/DIN 72 581 - plugged in (Fig. 4).
