Batteries
Open the battery compartment and
insert as indicated two alkaline batteries
type LR6, AM3, AA.
Remove the batteries if they are empty or if
the CD player is not to be used for a long
time.
The indicator lights up on the display,
when the batteries are nearly exhausted.
Mains adapter
Connect a mains adapter to the
DC IN 6.0 V socket and to the wall
outlet. The adapter must supply
6.0 V DC +>-, pluspole + to the
centre pin of the 4.0 mm socket.
Always disconnect the adapter if you
are not using it.
Note:
The battery supply is switched off when the DC IN 6.0 V socket
is in use.
When changing over to battery supply, pull out the plug from
the DC IN 6.0 V socket.

Note on Environmental Protection
Do not throw exhausted batteries in the household refuse.
Hand over the old batteries to your dealer or public
collecting points when buying new ones.
Recharging NiCd batteries
(Size AA)
Your mains adaptor can also be used as a charging set.
Only nickel-cadmium batteries (NiCd, size AA) 1.2 V/600 mA
are suitable for this.
Note:
When purchasing NiCd batteries, please ensure that at least
3 mm of the metal end at the negative terminal is visible, as
shown.
New batteries or those not used for some time should first
be charged completely.
Insert the rechargeable batteries as previously described into
the compartment.
Connect the mains adaptor to the CD player and plug into
the wall.
The batteries should be fully charged after eight hours.
The ambient temperature should be between 5 and 40 ˚C.
The CD player can be used while the batteries are
charging.
