The coffee is very hot when it has just brewed. Be careful when pouring. You could
scald yourself.
The hotplate gets very hot. Do not touch it when the device is switched on or shortly
after it has been switched off.
Do not ll water any higher than up to the max marking as otherwise water can spray
out during brewing.
Never place the coffee pot on a hot stovetop or other hot surfaces.
Never leave the empty coffee pot on the hotplate as it could shatter. Never use the
device if the coffee pot shows signs of cracks. Only use the coffee pot with this de-
vice. Use it very carefully; it is fragile.
Do not operate the device without water in it or with less water than is required to
reach the minimum marking.
The lid of the coffee pot must be closed during the brewing process so that the cof-
fee can trickle into the pot.
1. If you have not already done so, place the coffee machine on a dry, at, solid and
heat-resistant surface and plug the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket.
2. Flip up the lid of the water reservoir and use the coffee pot to pour water into the
water reservoir. Make sure that the amount of water is between the minimum and
max marking.
3. Place the coffee pot with the lid closed onto the hotplate.
4. Make sure that the permanent lter is in the lter holder and that this is correctly
inserted in the device. Pour the desired amount of coffee powder into the permanent
lter. We recommend one measuring spoonful per cup.
5. Close the lid of the water reservoir.
6. Flip the On/Off switch of the coffee machine to 1. The device is switched on and the
control lamp of the On/Off switch lights up. You can cancel the brewing process at
any time by moving the On/Off switch to 0.
During the brewing process, you can remove the pot from the hotplate for a short
time to serve coffee. In this case, coffee automatically stops being ltered through.
However, the pot should not be removed from the plate for longer than 30 seconds.
7. Once the brewing process is complete, wait until the coffee has stopped dripping.
8. If the coffee is to be kept warm, leave the pot standing on the hotplate and the device
switched on. However, we recommend that you serve the coffee fresh.
9. After use, move the On/Off switch to 0. Remove the mains plug from the mains
socket.
10. Clean the coffee pot, the permanent lter and the lter holder after every use (see
the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).
Allow the device to cool down before you pour more water into the water reservoir to
brew coffee.
Tips for Producing Great-Tasting Coffee
A clean coffee pot is the requirement for making great-tasting coffee. Clean the cof-
fee machine on a regular basis. Always use fresh, cold water in the coffee machine.
