Before Initial Use

CAUTION!

■ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of

suffocation!

■ There may still be some production residues on the device and the accessories.

Clean the device and the accessories before using them for the ﬁ rst time in the man-

ner described in these instructions.

■ Never immerse the device, the mains cable or the plug in water or other liquids.

■ Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning. These could dam-

age the surface.

1. Unpack all parts and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items Sup-

plied and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. Remove any ﬁ lms and

stickers that may be present from the device. If you ﬁ nd any damage to the compo-

nents, do not use them (!); instead, contact our customer service department.

2. Clean the oven, the ﬁ lter compartment and all accessories with warm water and a

little detergent. Then dry everything thoroughly.

3. Place the device on a dry and heat-resistant ﬂ at surface at a safe distance from ﬂ am-

mable objects. Make sure that the device is not accessible to children.

4. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed 220 - 240 volt plug socket.

5. You should use the oven and the pan for the ﬁ rst time without any food as a small

amount of smoke or odours might be produced due to possible coating residues.

Allow the device to heat up on the highest and lowest heat for approx. 10 minutes

without any food in it (see the "Use" chapter). During this time, make sure the room

is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open windows!

6. You should operate the coffee machine for the ﬁ rst time without any coffee powder in

order to rinse through the lines etc. and clear them of any production residues. You

can ﬁ nd a detailed description of how you assemble and use the device in the “Use”

chapter:

– Fill the water tank with water. Pay attention to the MIN and MAX markings.

– Insert the ﬁ lter compartment with ﬁ lter (without coffee powder) into the device.

– Place the glass jug beneath the coffee outlet opening.

– Move the On / Off switch to the AN (on) position.

– Wait until no more water comes out of the coffee outlet opening. Repeat the

cleaning process one to two times.

– Remove any remaining water from the water tank.

Your device is now ready for operation.

■ Do not operate the device unattended so that you can intervene immediately in the

event of any malfunctions (e.g. overﬂ owing etc.).
