Applications and Regulations
1 Applications
The test system has been developed for user-controlled
execution of approvals, routine tests and periodic testing in
accordance with legally specified directives (e.g. BGV A3
previously BGV A2 and VBG4 –, GUV A2, MPG, BetrSichV,
Brandschutz etc.). Individual work steps are combined by the user
into complete work sequences to this end. Test sequences
created in this way are then executed in a user-controlled fashion.
Test sequences, including all required measurements in accor-
dance with the following standards, have been predefined:
DIN VDE 0701- 0702
In addition to this, the modular test system allows for the integra-
tion of testing tasks through the connection of sensors, e.g. for
the measurement of ambient temperature, relative humidity and
light.
In addition to test data archiving and administration within the in-
strument, data exchange with PS3 software programs is also pos-
sible. Furthermore, your data can be backed up as an XML file,
which can be processed with an appropriate editor.
All of the values for electrical equipment required for approval re-
ports or device logbooks (e.g. per ZVEH) can be measured with
the test system.
Test data can be printed in standard test report forms by means
of an interconnected printer. The user can also create and print
out reports in PS3.
Use for Intended Purpose
The
test system
can be used as a benchtop instrument which must be iso-
lated and set up on a solid base while measurements are being performed. It
can also be hung around the neck with a carrying strap for use as a portable
device.
Only those measurements which are described in the following
chapters may be performed with the test system.
•The test system, including the measuring probe, may only be
used within the specified measuring category (see section 2 on
page 10 as well as the table below explaining their meaning).
Overload limits may not be exceeded. See technical data on
page 126 for overload values and overload limits.
Measurements may only be performed under the specified
ambient conditions. See page 128 regarding operating tem-
perature range and relative humidity.
•The test system may only be used in accordance with the
specified protection type (see page 129).
Measuring Categories and their Meaning per IEC 61010-1
CAT Definition
I
Measurements in electrical circuits
which are not directly connected to the mains:
(e.g. electrical systems in motor vehicles and aircraft, batteries etc.
II
Measurements in electrical circuits
which are electrically connected to the low-voltage mains:
with plugs, e.g. at home, in the office or laboratory etc.
III
Measurements in building installations:
stationary consumers, distributor terminals, devices connected
permanently to the distributor
IV
Measurements at power sources for low-voltage installations:
meters, mains terminals, primary overvoltage protection devices
