Usage
The cooker hood has an upper air outlet (A) with a nipple
(B) onto which the exahust tube (not included) should
be attached through which smoke and vapour are
conducted.
Installation
The distance between the cooker hood and the cooker
should be at least 65 centimeters with electric cookers
and at least 75 cm with gas cookers or combined
electric/gas cookers.
The hood can be installed above these heights but for
optimum performance it should be installed at the
distance quoted for the appropriate heat source.
This appliance can be installed into a cabinet or other
supporting element.
To install the cooker hood, please adhere to the following
instructions: Make an aperture at the bottom of the
cabinet that is of sufficcient size to accomodate the
cooker hood. Then drill a hole at the top of the cabinet
for the exahust tube, connect the exahust tube to the
cooker hood, remove the grille or fat filter, remove frame
(C) by pushing the two buttons (D), insert the cooker
hood into the aperture and fix the hood by using all
included wooden screws (G). Replace the frame (C) and
the intake net (H).
Connecting to electricity
The voltage provided by the electrical company must
be the same as indicated on the technical data label
which is on the inside of the cooker hood. If a plug is
provided, plug it into an outlet. Otherwise, install a bipolar
switch that adheres to safety regulations and has the
contacts at a distance of at least 3 milimeters.
Caution
Do not use the cooker hood without a correctly installed
grille!
The intake air should never be directed to a smoke and
vapour exahust tube of an appliance that does not use
electricity as its source of energy! If the cooker hood is
used together with such appliances, please insure that
the room is properly ventilated. You should also never
use any open flame under the hood. Open flame can
damage the filters and cause a fire and should therefore
be avoided. Frying should also be supervised at all times
to make sure the oil does not catch fire.
Adhere to the local safety and technical regulations
regarding smoke emissions at all times!
Operating the cooker hood
There is a switch for selecting the power and a switch
for turning the light on and off. It is located on the side of
the grille (H).
In case there is too much smoke, increase the power.
We recommend you turn on the hood 5 minutes before
you start cooking and leave it on for 15 minutes after
you have finished cooking.
Maintenance
Before doing any maintenance, unplug the cooker hood.
Fat filter is to be cleaned monthly with a mild detergent
manually or using a dishwasher with low temperature
and short program.
To remove the fat filter (M), push the handles (N)
downwards.
Carbon filter (filtration version only)
This filter is neither washable nor renewable. It is used
to catch unpleasant smells that develop when cooking.
It should be mounted on the safety grille of the motor
and replaced every 4 months.
Installation: Install filter (P) on the safety grille and turn
the handle in clockwise direction till it falls into place.
To remove, reverse the above procedure.
The carbon filter is not supplied. It has to be
ordered separately.
Cleaning
The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly on the
outside as well as inside. Use a damp cloth with neutral
liquid cleaners. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Always
disconnect the hood before cleaning.
Fire hazard is increased f you do not adhere to the
instrucions for cleaning the cooker hood and replacing
and cleaning the filter.
Changing the lightbulbs
Remove the fat filters support grille and the filter to gain
access to the lightbulb cavity. Remove the burned-out
lightbulb and replace it with an oval lightbulb with
maximum power of 40 Watts (E14).
Use figures of the elements on the first few pages
of this booklet as a reference.
Follow the instructions in this booklet.
We are not responsible for any problems, injuries
or fires which may occur if the instructions in this
booklet are not followed.
