WLAN
Wireless LAN
Wireless LANs (Funknetzwerke oder auch kabellose Netzwerke genannt) ermöglichen
Netzwerkkomponenten die Kommunikation mit einem Netzwerk durch den Einsatz von
Funk als Transportmedium. Das kabellose LAN kann an ein bestehendes kabelgebunde-
nes LAN als Erweiterung angebunden werden oder es bildet die Basis eines neuen Netz-
werks. Grundbaustein eines kabellosen Netzes ist die so genannte Funkzelle. Dies ist der
Bereich, in dem die kabellose Kommunikation stattfindet. Ein WLAN kann im Ad-hoc-
Modus oder im Infrastruktur-Netzwerk betrieben werden.
WLAN ist durch den Standard IEEE 802.11 spezifiziert.

Sicherheitstandard in kabellosen Netzwerken.
WPA-PSK
WPA Pre-shared Key
Verschlüsselung von Daten in kabellosen Netzwerken, bei der mittels eines Schlüsselwor-
tes (Pre-shared Key) in regelmäßigen Abständen neue Schlüssel automatisch erzeugt wer-
den. Dabei wird der Schlüssel in definierten Zeitintervallen erneuert.
