Les deux frères coururent à toute hâte jusqu’à la grande maison de
brique de leur frère, avec le loup affamé sur leurs talons.

«Non, non, par les poils de mon menton!» répondit le petit cochon terrié.
«Alors je vais soufer, soufer encore et soufer si fort que ta maison
s’écroulera!» gronda le loup. Alors il soufa, et il soufa encore, et il
soufa plus fort et il soufa encore plus fort mais la maison resta en
place. La maisonnette en brique avait été construite avec soin et avec
du ciment très solide.
Le loup était tellement bouillant de rage qu’il était
rouge de colère et que de la fumée sortait de ses
oreilles! Il commença à marcher tout autour de la
maison; pendant ce temps, les trois petits cochons
étaient confortablement assis autour du feu. Alors
le loup réalisa que la seule façon d’entrer dans la
maison était de descendre par la cheminée qui se
trouvait au sommet du toit. Il alla chercher une
longue échelle et commença à monter.
