Problem Possible Reason The Solution

The appliance is

making pulsing,

whistling, and

pumping noises

during operation.

This is normal and no rea-

son for concern.

No action required.

No steam, no hot

water.

The machine is not live, not

turned on, or did not reach

operating temperature.

Ensure that the machine is plugged in and the power but-

ton is illuminated continuously (not flashing). It may take

some seconds until steam is given off.

The water tank is empty. Fill the water tank. The filling level must be between

250 ml and 1500 ml (MAX).

The operating temperature

is not reached (power but-

ton flashes).

Wait until the power button is illuminated continuously.

Then try again.

You have operated the hot

water/steam function for

more than 3 minutes.

After approx. 3 minutes of operation the hot water/steam

function stops automatically. Turn the hot water/steam

switch back to the vertical position and wait until the

water system reaches operating temperature again (power

button is illuminated continuously). If required, try again.

The steam wand is blocked. Leave the steam wand cool down and clean the steam

wand (see: ‘Cleaning the Steam Wand’).

Not enough milk

texture.

The milk is not fresh and/or

not cold enough.

Use refrigerated and really fresh milk for texturing (see:

‘Tips for Texturing Milk’).

You need to improve your

texturing procedure.

Proceed according to the instructions in the sections ‘Tex-

turing Milk’ and ‘Tips for Texturing Milk’. Check whether

you get better results, when working with or without the

stainless steel sleeve.

You stopped texturing pre-

maturely.

The texturing process needs some time. Leave the appliance

operate until the desired quantity of froth is produced.

Not enough steam is given

off.

The steam wand could be blocked. Leave the steam wand

cool down and clean the steam wand (see: ‘Cleaning the

Steam Wand’).

Different brands and types

of milk and milk alternatives

will texture differently.

You may need to adapt the texturing procedure. Give it a

try (see: ‘Texturing Milk’).
