2. Wipe the interior of the group head and the shower screen with a damp cloth
to remove any ground coffee particles.
3. Install an empty filter basket (without coffee powder) and portafilter in the group
head.
4. Press the POWER button to switch on the appliance and wait until the POWER
button is illuminated continuously. Then turn the selection dial clockwise to the
brewing position. Let the appliance operate for approx. 20 seconds, to purge
any residues of coffee powder from the group head.
5. Turn the selection dial back to the vertical position to stop and release pressure.
6. Remove and clean the portafilter and filter basket.
PURGING THE WATER SYSTEM
After each coffee making session, we recommend to purge the water system, before
turning off the machine.
1. Empty the drip tray.
2. Insert a filter basket into the portafilter.
3. Insert the portafilter into the group head.
4. Press the POWER button to switch on the appliance and wait until the POWER
button is illuminated continuously.
5. Turn the selection dial clockwise to the brewing position. Let the appliance ope-
rate for approx. 20 seconds.
6. Turn the selection dial back to the vertical position to stop the water flow.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 five times to purge any fine coffee grounds and residual
coffee oils from the water system.
CLEANING THE DRIP TRAY
The drip tray should be removed, emptied and cleaned after each use or, at the
latest, when the filling level indicator is sticking out of the grill of the drip tray.
IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive cleansers, pads or cloths which can scratch the
surfaces. Be careful, when removing the drip tray to avoid spilling the contents.
