IMPORTANT - After the program is finished completely (including the maximum
keep warm time), the automatic shut-off is triggered, switching off the heating ele-
ments and display (see: ‘Automatic Shut-Off’).
BOIL DRY PROTECTION
The water kettle is fitted with an overheat protection device (boil dry protection),
which safeguards against overheating of the heating elements. Overheating may
occur, when …
too much scale is on the heating elements. Descale the kettle in time (see: ‘Care
and Cleaning’).
too little water is in the kettle. Always observe the minimum filling level (250ml;
approx. 1cm / half an inch above the temperature probe). Please keep in mind,
that water may vaporize, when left for a long time in the kettle on high tempe-
rature. Observe the filling level during operation and after pouring.
CAUTION – DO NOT pour cold water into the hot kettle to avoid damage.
Always leave the kettle cool down, before filling in cold water.
When overheating occurs, the kettle automatically switches off and the error mes-
sage “E2” illuminates. Remove the kettle from the power base and pour out any resi-
dues. Then leave the kettle cool down by waiting at least 30 minutes with the lid left
open. Thereafter, you may reactivate the appliance. However, you should clean the
kettle, after overheating occurred.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
Except for the type of tea, the amount of ingredients, the steeping temperature, and
the steeping time have a great influence on the taste and composition of extracted
compounds within your tea. The optimum settings strongly depend on your liking and
the type of your tea. Thus, it is worth it giving it a try. Adapt the amount of ingre-
dients to your linking.
When preparing leaves of the tea bush, we recommend to start with 5 to 7 g crus-
hed leaves (approx. 2-3 heaped teaspoons) for each 500ml of water.
For making fruit tea or herbal tea, you may like to use other amounts.
When making black tea, long steeping times may result in dissolving surplus
bitter components and getting a calming effect. The stimulating compounds of
black tea are dissolved within a quite short steeping time. Thus, controlling the
steeping time accordingly, you can determine the taste and effect of your tea.
