Playing Golf

Before you play golf, you should charge the device (Charging

the Device, page 1).

From the watch face, press START.

Select Golf.

Go outside, and wait while the device locates satellites.

Select a course from the list of available courses.

If necessary, set your driver distance.

Select Yes to keep score.

Select a tee box.

After you complete your round, press START, and select End

Round.

Hole Information

The device shows the current hole you are playing, and

automatically transitions when you move to a new hole.

NOTE: Because pin locations change, the device calculates the

distance to the front, middle, and back of the green, but not the

actual pin location.

Big Numbers Mode

You can change the size of the numbers on the hole information

screen.

Hold MENU, select the activity settings, and select Big

Numbers.

The distance to the back of the green

The distance to the middle of the green or selected pin position

The distance to the front of the green

The current hole number

The par for the current hole

Hazards and Layups

You can press DOWN to scroll through the hazards, layups, and

custom targets for the current hole.

The type of hazard or the layup distance

The highlighted location of the hazard or layup

The distance to the layup or to the front and back of the hazard

Measuring Distance with Button Targeting

While playing a round, you can use the button targeting feature

to measure the distance to a point on the map.

From the hazards and layups screen, press START.

Press UP or DOWN to measure the distance to the target.

If necessary, select or to zoom in or out.

Saving Custom Targets

While playing a round, you can save up to five custom targets

for each hole. Saving a target is useful for recording objects or

obstacles that are not shown on the map. You can view the

distances to these targets from the hazards and layups screen

(Hazards and Layups, page 2).

Stand near the target you want to save.

NOTE: You cannot save a target that is far from the currently

selected hole.

From the hole information screen, press START.

Select Custom Targets.

Select a target type.

Virtual Caddie

Before you can use the virtual caddie, you must play five rounds

with Approach

CT10 sensors or enable the Club Prompt setting

(Activities and App Settings, page 29), and upload your

scorecards. For each round, you must connect to a paired

smartphone with the Garmin Golf app. The virtual caddie

provides recommendations based on the hole, wind data, and

your past performance with each club.

Displays the recommended direction to aim.

Displays the club recommendation for the shot. You can view other

club options (Changing the Club Recommendation, page 2).

Changing the Club Recommendation

Press START.

Select Virtual Caddie.

The device displays the calculated average number of

strokes for the recommended clubs .
