Fan flap
mRisk of burns!
The appliance will become hot during operation. Only
touch the fan flap on the marked area.
The ventilation elements can be opened and closed
independently of each other. Open the fan flaps above
whichever hotplates are being used.
Note: At least one fan flap must be open before the fan
will switch on.
Opening a fan flap
1Press the area marked " on the fan flap.
2This will unlock the fan flap and it will swing out to
the left.
Closing a fan flap
1Swing the fan flap to the right.
2Press the area marked " on the fan flap.
This will lock the fan flap.
Ventilation moulding
If the downdraft ventilation operates beside a gas-fired
appliance, a ventilation moulding AA 414 010 must be
attached when cooking. The ventilation moulding
improves the extraction behaviour for gas-fired
appliances. The ventilation moulding prevents small
flames from going out as a result of a draft.
Cleaning
mRisk of burns!
The appliance becomes hot during operation. Allow the
appliance to cool down before cleaning.
mRisk of electric shock!
Do not use any high-pressure cleaners or steam
cleaners, which can result in an electric shock.
mRisk of injury!
Components inside the appliance may have sharp
edges. Wear protective gloves.
Caution!
Risk of surface damage: Do not use these cleaners
harsh or abrasive cleaning agents
oven cleaners
corrosive or aggressive cleaners, or those
containing chlorine
cleaning agents with a high alcohol content
hard and scratchy sponges, brushes or scouring
pads
If such an agent comes into contact with the appliance,
wash it off immediately with water.
Thoroughly wash out new sponge cloths before using
them!

Cleaning the appliance
Note: Before cleaning the appliance, remove any
jewellery you are wearing on your arms and hands.
Clean the appliance after each use once it has cooled
down. Remove boiled-over liquids immediately and do
not allow any food remains to dry on.
Remove fan flaps for cleaning.Clean fan flaps and
positioning plates in the dishwasher. Also clean the
inside of the hob extractor system regularly.You can use
a special degreaser to remove stubborn dirt (article no.
00311297).
Removing and refitting the metal
grease filter
Removing the metal grease filter
1Lift the fan flap to the middle position and then pull
it up to remove it. The fan flap will unclip from the
holder.
Note: Risk of scratching when removing and setting
down.Lift the fan flap straight out – do not tilt it
when doing so.
2Lift the metal grease filter out of the appliance.
Remove the positioning plate (if inserted).
3Clean the metal grease filter and positioning plate.
4Clean the inside of the hob extractor system.

Only use a minimal amount of water when
cleaning so that no water enters the appli-
ance.
Soak dried-on remains with a small amount
of soapy water; do not scour.

nants, yellowing brought about by heat, or
small rust spots appearing on the fan flap
as a result of cleaning in the dishwasher.
Controls The soapy cloth must not be too wet. Dry
with a soft cloth.
