Hvorfor forekommer højt eller lavt

blodtryk?

Dit blodtryk styres af hjernens

cirkulationscenter og reguleres til

forskellige situationer gennem feedback

fra nervesystemet. For at regulere

blodtrykket ændres hjertets styrke og

hastighed (pulsen), ligesom bredden

af blodkarrene i kredsløbet tilpasses.

Blodkarrene styres af de små muskler i

blodkarrenes vægge.

Niveauet for blodtrykket i blodkarrene

ændres periodisk gennem hjertets

aktivitet: Under “udpumpning” af blod

(systole) er værdien højest (det systoliske

blodtryk). Ved slutningen af hjertets

“hvileperiode” (diastole) er værdien lavest

(det diastoliske blodtryk).
