Queste direttive possono non valere in tutte le circostanze. La diffusione di grandezze
elettromagnetiche viene influenzata anche dall'assorbimento e dai riflessi degli edifici, degli oggetti
e delle persone.
a I livelli di conformità per le bande di frequenza ISM tra i 150 kHz e gli 80 MHz e nel range di
frequenza compreso tra gli 80 MHz e i 2,5 GHz servono a limitare la probabilità che i dispositivi
di comunicazione mobili/portatili possano produrre delle interferenze, nel caso in cui vengano
inavvertitamente avvicinati ai pazienti. Per questo motivo, per calcolare la distanza di
separazione consigliata per i trasmettitori in questi range di frequenza, viene applicato un fattore
supplementare di 3.
b Le intensità di campo di trasmettitori fissi, come ad esempio stazioni base per radiotelefoni
(telefoni mobili/cordless) e walkie-talkie, apparecchi radio amatoriali, apparecchi radio AM e FM
e apparecchi radiotelevisi non possono teoricamente essere predeterminate con precisione. Per
la valutazione delle condizioni elettromagnetiche causate da trasmettitori RF fissi dovrebbe
essere presa in considerazione la possibilità di effettuare un controllo elettromagnetico in loco.
Nel caso in cui l’intensità di campo misurata nel luogo d’impiego del dispositivo o del sistema
superasse i livelli di conformità RF validi di cui sopra, il dispositivo o il sistema deve essere
controllato per verificarne il funzionamento normale. Nel caso in cui vengano rilevati valori di
potenza anomali, possono essere necessari provvedimenti supplementari, ad esempio il
riorientamento o il riposizionamento del dispositivo o del sistema.
b Oltre il range di frequenza di 150 kHz - 80 MHz l’intensità di campo deve essere inferiore a 3
V/m.
