Consider the scene you are photographing and the sort of image you want to
achieve when you specify the camera settings. A general guide is given below.

Select the Photography mode (P. 30, 31).

Auto Leaves the “EV” and “White balance” settings to the camera.

Scene position Selects the best setting for the scene being shot.

Manual Sets the “EV”, “White balance”, “Flash brightness adjustment”,
“Aperture-priority” and “Sharpness” to manual to easily control
yourself.

Specify the photography settings (P.32-42).

Macro Uses for close-up shots.

Flash Uses for shots in dark locations or for backlit subjects, etc.
This is useful when you are checking the shot composition for
dimly lit scenes (Slow synchro shots, etc.).
y Quality
Set the size of the recorded image when the picture is taken.
The size set is matched to the intended use of the print size.

Self-timer Uses in situations such as group shots where the photographer
is included in the shot.
z Change this setting to adjust the amount of light emitted by the
flash to suit the photography conditions or to achieve a desired
effect.
D
Uses the AE exposure as a reference value of 0. This function
brightens (+) or darkens (–) the shot.
A
White balance Uses to fix the white balance to suit the photography conditions
and lighting.
Aperture-priority Use this mode for shots that have the background out of focus
(large aperture) or have both near and far objects in focus
(small aperture).
G Sharpness Use this setting to soften or emphasize outlines or to adjust the
quality of the image.

« BACK” and then press the “MENU/OK” button.

Press the “MENU/OK” button repeatedly to erase consecutive
image. Take care not to erase important images.
