1. Wat is een repeater?
Een repeater is een apparaat dat de dekking van een bestaand draadloos netwerk
vergroot. De repeater ontvangt het signaal en versterkt het weer. Voor het
ontvangen wordt de repeater aangemeld op het bestaande draadloos netwerk. Voor
een goede ontvangst dient de repeater gepositioneerd te zijn aan de rand van het
dekkende gebied van het bestaande draadloze netwerk. Op de plek waar de
repeater hangt zal de dekking van het bestaande draadloze netwerk vergroot zijn
omdat de repeater het signaal versterkt.
2. Hoe in te stellen?
Er zijn meerdere manieren om de FRITZ!WLAN repeater N/G in te stellen:
A. Via Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
B. Via instel software
C. Via de webinterface
Deze drie manieren worden hieronder nader toegelicht.
Advies: zet uw WLAN (Wifi) kanaal op een vaste waarde
Om problemen met uw draadloze netwerk in combinatie met uw repeater te
voorkomen wordt u geadviseerd het Wifi-kanaal op een vaste waarde te zetten.
Van de fabrikant uit wordt geadviseerd hiervoor kanaal 9 te gebruiken.
A. Uw repeater instellen via Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
Middels het slimme systeem WPS is de repeater met slechts een paar drukken op
de knop te koppelen met een FRITZ!Box. Het WPS-systeem maakt automatisch een
beveiligde WiFi verbinding tussen twee apparaten, mits zij beide WPS
ondersteunen. De Repeater doet dat en diverse modellen FRITZ!Box ook.
Om uw repeater via WPS op de FRITZ!Box te melden voert u de volgende stappen
uit:
1. Log in op uw FRITZ!Box en controleer op de overzichtspagina of de firmware
gelijk of hoger is dan xx.04.68. Zo niet, voer dan eerst een firmware-update uit
en controleer daarna of u wel de juiste versie firmware heeft.
2. Activeer WPS
a. Login op de FRITZ!Box
b. Ga naar [Instellingen]
c. Klik op [Geavanceerde instellingen]
d. Klik op [WLAN]
e. Klik op [Security]
f. Ga naar [WPS – Quick Connection]
g. Activeer optie [Push-Button-Methode (WPS-PBC)]
h. Klik op [Apply]
3. Activeer bij WLAN > Radio [Alle nieuwe WLAN-apparaten toelaten]
4. Deactiveer WDS onder WLAN > WDS > WDS active en klik op [Apply
]
