made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. Keep the appliance and its
cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
ALWAYS plug in the deep fryer directly on the mains. Never USE an external timer or a remote
control system.
DO NOT place the appliances near or on a source of heat (f.ex. hot-plate). Make sure that the
cord does not touch any hot surface and always ensure that no-one trips over the cord.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Remove all packagings and stickers.
Before the first use we recommend to clean all component thoroughly, with exception of the
electrical part which must NOT be immersed in water.
NEVER clean the basket and the fondue forks in the dishwasher and NEVER let them soak into
water
Ensure that the voltage marked on the appliance is the same as your main voltage. According to
the safety law: only use earthed sockets.
USE AND OPERATION
Only use the deep fryer for deep-frying and fondue purposes.
Fill the reservoir with oil or melted fat until the MAX level (1.5 litre). Make sure that the oil or frying fat
is always above the minimum level. We suggest to fill the oil until the MIN level (1 litre) when you use
the appliance for fondue purposes.
NEVER switch the deep fryer on before you have filled it with oil. NEVER leave water in the oil
reservoir when filling it with oil. The oil level must always be between MIN and MAX for frying
.
NEVER use the deep fryer or fondue with the lid on, nor heat up with the lid on.
Before inserting the plug into the socket, first remove the fondue ring, fold out the basket handle and
suspend the basket on the hook. (In order to fondue, remove the basket and place the fondue ring)
Now turn the thermostat knob clockwise to the desired temperature. The indicator light goes on. As
the selected temperature is reached, the indicator light goes out. The fryer is ready for use.
We recommend using frying oil instead of fat. When using frying fat place the block of fat on the
bottom of the bowl without the basket.
Put the previously dried food in the basket (max. 2/3). For an optimal frying result, we advise following
quantities :
Frozen French fries : fill the basket max. 2/3
Fresh French fries : max. 150gr per litre oil or 900gr solid fat
Delicate dishes like croquettes, fish, …. : only cover the bottom of the bowl
Immerse the basket gently in the oil or frying fat to allow the water contained in the food to evaporate.
IMPORTANT : To avoid damage to the oil, never add salt or spices during the frying. It’s better not to
thaw out frozen small portions, this way the quality will be much better. After frying pull the basket up
and suspend it on the hook. Bring the thermostat button back to the position of the lowest temperature
and disconnect the plug. Allow complete cooling before emptying and cleaning the deep fryer. Only
fold in the basket handle when the oil has completely cooled off, only than can the lid be placed on the
appliances.
FONDUE : This fondue has an adjustable temperature control, making it possible to prepare various
types of fondue, such as classic meat fondue, cheese fondue, Chinese fondue, chocolate fondue, ….
Always use oil that is suitable for high temperatures and replace it each time after use. This also
applies when instead of oil used for bouillon, cheese or chocolate.
Classic meat fondue : 170°C
Chinese fondue : 90°C
Cheese fondue, Chocolate fondue : 90°C (heat up slowly, stir once in a while to obtain a smooth
texture)
