Installation and operating instructions
General Instructions
Read these instructions carefully prior to
installation and use. Keep this manual for
future reference.
The product may only be used as set out in
the assembly and operating instructions. The
guarantee is only valid should the product be used
in the manner intended and in accordance with
the instructions.
Application
Infraswift is a versatile patio heater with a
soft, yellow-orange light. It has a relatively
low surface temperature in relation to the
heat output, which together with its compact
design provides great freedom in placement.
The innovative nylon shell makes Infraswift
especially suitable for parasol mounting.
Protection class: IP65.
Positioning
The heaters must be placed so that they cover
the area to be heated. Optimum comfort is
achieved if the heat is distributed from at
least two directions. Fig.1. A rule of thumb for
infrared heaters is that 600–800 W/m² increases
the experienced temperature by about 10 °C.
The output demand can be reduced if the
area to be heated is protected. If the area
only has a roof, at least 800 W/m² should be
installed. 600 W/m² is sucient if the area has
three walls. For enclosed areas, the output
demand must be calculated. The recommended
installation heights for the heater are shown on
the introduction pages.
Mounting
Infraswift can be installed on a wall, a post or
under a parasol and is supplied with a wall
bracket. The heater can be angled in several
xed positions. When fastening the unit make
sure that the slots of the bracket are facing
down. Fig.2B, g.3B.
For minimum distance, see diagrams on
introductory pages.
Wall mounting (g.5)
1. Drill 3 holes with a 5 mm diameter bit in the
wall and x the wall bracket, ensuring that
the slots are facing down. Fig.5, g.2B.
2. Adjust the angle of the unit.
3. Tighten the screws on the sides rmly. Fig.2A.
Mounting on a post (g.6) or a parasol (g.7)
The heater can be fastened to a post or to the
ribs of a parasol with the parasol clamp INSP
(accessory). The clamp can be xed on a round
post/rib of diameter 20-45 mm, or a square one
with sides of 18-33 mm. Ensure that the post
is stable and solid before xing the unit. The
mounting options are shown in g.8.
1. Check if the inner clamp is needed, see g. 8.
2. Before tightening the two rear knobs of the
clamp to fasten it, ensure that the slots are
facing down. Fig.3B.
3. Adjust the angle of the unit.
4. Tighten the screws on the sides rmly. Fig.3A.
Blocking the angle
The unit is blocked in desired angle when the
the blocking button is positioned with its solid
part downwards. Fig.4C. It is possible to adjust
the angle of the unit when the blocking button
is positioned with its solid part upwards. Fig.4D.
Connection
Infraswift is equipped with a 1.9 metre cord
with plug for connection to an earthed outlet
socket. The connection cord must not rest
against the unit as the surface becomes hot
or can be hit by thermal radiation. Contact an
electrician if the cord needs to be changed.
Note that due to the high temperatures
in the heater, a cord of the type H05RN-F
3x1mm²x1,9m with Shuko plug or the like
should be used. In the event of uncertainty
contact an electrician.
The heater is turned on with the switch on the
unit (on/off).
Start-up
When the unit is used for the rst time or after
a long period of non-use, smoke or an odour
may result from dust or dirt which has collected
on the element. This is completely normal and
disappears after a short time.
