Handige gezondheidsgerelateerde informatie

Het volgende hee betrekking op uw gezondheid en moet altijd in acht worden genomen:

•Hetsysteemisbedoeldomutehelpenuwdiabetesbeterondercontroletekrijgendoorugedurende

de dag uw glucosespiegels te laten weten.

•Testresultatenvanminderdan60mg/dl(3,3mmol/l)betekenendatuwglucosespiegellaagis.

•Testresultatenvanmeerdan240mg/dl(13,3mmol/l)betekenendatuwglucosespiegelhoogis.

• Ernstigeuitdrogingenovermatigvochtverlieskunnenfoutieflageresultatenveroorzaken.Als

u vermoedt dat u aan ernstige uitdroging lijdt, moet u direct uw zorgteam raadplegen.

•Alsuresultatenkrijgtvanminderdan60mg/dl(3,3mmol/l)ofmeerdan240mg/dl(13,3mmol/l)en

geen symptomen hebt van hypoglykemie of hyperglykemie, moet u uw glucose testen met behulp van

de bloedglucosemodus.

•Alsusymptomenvanhypoglykemieofhyperglykemiehebtofderesultatenlagerblijvendan

60 mg/dl (3,3 mmol/l) of hoger dan 240 mg/dl (13,3 mmol/l) moet u uw zorgteam raadplegen.

•Alsusymptomenhebtdienietovereenkomenmetderesultatenvanuwglucosetestmoetuuw

zorgteam raadplegen. Fysiologische verschillen tussen de interstitiële vloeistof en het capillaire bloed

kunnen leiden tot verschillen in de glucosemetingen. Tijdens periodes met snelle veranderingen in

uw bloedglucose kunnen verschillen worden vastgesteld tussen de glucosemeting van de interstitiële

vloeistof en uw vinger, bijvoorbeeld na het eten, na de dosering van insuline of bij lichaamsbeweging.

– Interstitiëlevloeistof(ISV)isdevloeistoftussencelleninhetlichaam.Vervoervannutriënten,

zuurstofenglucosevanhetbloednaardecellenvindtplaatsviadeISV.Alsdeglucoseinde

bloedstroomtoeneemt(bijvoorbeeldtijdensmaaltijden),isdietoenamedaarompaslaterindeISV

tezien.AlsdeglucosewaardenindeISVdalen(tijdenslichaamsbewegingconsumerendecellen

bijvoorbeeld snel glucose), dan is die daling ook pas later in de bloedstroom te zien.

•Alsuuwglucosespiegeltestindebloedglucosemodus,kunnenverschillenindebloedsomloopinuw

vinger en andere testplaatsen (onderarm, bovenarm, hand, dijbeen of kuit) resulteren in verschillende

glucosemetingen.Verschilleninbloedglucosemetingentussenuwvingerenanderetestplaatsen

(onderarm, bovenarm, hand, dijbeen of kuit) kunnen worden waargenomen na het eten, het gebruik

van insuline, diabetesmedicatie of beweging.

• Test

uwvingeralsutestophypoglykemieofalsuhypoglykemie-onbewustheidhebt(zievolgende

pagina voor denitie van hypoglykemie-onbewustheid). Bij vingerbloedmonsters kunnen eerder

veranderingen van de glucosespiegel worden waargenomen dan in monsters uit andere locaties

(onderarm, bovenarm, hand, dijbeen of kuit). Als een alternatieve locatie moet worden gebruikt,

kan krachtig wrijven over de alternatieve locatie vóór het prikken het verschil helpen te minimaliseren.
